Why Lot's Wife Looked Back?

The young heroines of famous Japanese anime movies are often figured in promotion posters with the appearance of "looking back".

Looking back girls: Chihiro in "Spirited Away" and Suzume in "Suzume"

As you know, in the book of Genesis, there is a story concerning a woman who became a pillar of salt against the Lord's order "look not back".

And they brought him forth, and set him without the city: and there they spoke to him, saying : Save thy life : look not back, neither stay thou in all the country about: but save thyself in the mountain, lest thou be also consumed.
(Genesis 19-17)

And his wife looking behind her, was turned into a statue of salt.
(Genesis 19-26)

The drawing below shows how deeply bible verses and the movie heroines are interconnected. To understand the whole story behind the mysterious posing, you must comprehend the history of the young princesses hidden in the myth of Japan.

The emblem of the cage is traditionally used in Japan as the "Kagome crest". When can the bird in the cage go out? Ancient characters always express their corresponding natural phenomenon or spiritual concepts.
