イザヤ書３章

見よ！万軍の主はエルサレムとユダから、つえとパンのつえと水のつえをことごとく取り去られる。
2 力ある者、戦いの者、裁き人、預言者、占い師、長老。
3 五十人の隊長、位階の高い者、助言者、狡猾な魔術師、巧みな呪術師。
4 わたしは子供達をその君主とし、赤子をその上に治めさせる。
5 人々は互いに、その仲間とその隣人を虐げ、子どもは老人に、卑しい者は尊い者に向かって横柄な振る舞いをする。
6 人はその父の家の兄弟をつかまえて、
「あなたはマントを持ち、私達の支配者となり、この破滅をあなたの手の下におさめよ！」
と言うからである。
7 その日、彼は誓って言う。
「私は癒し手にはならない。私の家にはパンもマントもないからだ。
あなたがたは私を民の支配者にしてはならない。」
8 エルサレムは滅び、ユダは倒れた。
彼らの舌とその行いが主に逆らって、主の栄光の目に逆らったからである。
8 これはエルサレムがつまずき、ユダが倒れたからであり、彼らの舌と行いとが主にそむき、主のご威光に逆らったからである。
9 彼らの顔かたちは彼らに向かって証しし、彼らはその罪をソドムのように言い表し、それを隠すことがない。
彼らの魂に災いあれ！ 彼らは自ら悪を行ったからである。
10 あなたがたは正しい者について言う。
「彼はよくなるであろう。彼等はその行いの実を食べるからだ。」
10 義人は幸いだと言え。彼らは、その行いの実を食べる。
11 悪しき者に災いあれ、それは彼とともに悪くなるであろう。
12 わたしの民は赤子がその主人となり、女がこれを治める。
わたしの民よ！あなたを導く者はあなたを迷わせ、あなたの行く道を滅ぼす。
13 主は弁明のために立ち、民を裁くために立ち上がる。
14 主はその民の長老達、およびその君主達と一緒に裁きに入る。
「あなたがたはぶどう畑を食い尽くし、貧しい者の戦利品があなたがたの家にある。
14 主は民の長老たちや、民のつかさたちと、さばきの座に入る。
「あなたがたは、ぶどう畑を荒れすたらせ、貧しい者からかすめた物を、あなたがたの家に置いている。
15 あなたがたは、わたしの民をつぶし、貧しい者の顔をすりつぶすとは、どういうことなのか。」
と、万軍の神である主は言われる。
16 さらに主は言われた。
「シオンの娘達は高慢で、首を長くして歩き、目を見開き、小股で歩き、足を鳴らしているからだ。」
16 主は仰せられた。「シオンの娘たちは高ぶり、首を伸ばし、色目を使って歩き、足に鈴を鳴らしながら小またで歩いている。」それゆえ、
17 それゆえ、主はシオンの娘達の頭の冠をかさぶたで打ち、主はその秘部をあらわにされる。
17 主はシオンの娘たちの頭の頂をかさぶただらけにし、主はその額をむき出しにされる。
18 その日、主は彼らの足かせの飾り｛勇気｝を取り去り、飾り紐を取り去り、三日月を取り去られる。
18 その日、主はもろもろの飾り—足飾り、髪の輪飾り、三日月形の飾り物、
19 ペンダント、腕輪、ベール。
20 かぶと、腕輪、たすき、コルセイト、お守り。
21 指輪、鼻あて。
22 エプロン、マント、外套、腰巻。
23 また、紗の衣、麻の衣、ターバン、マント。
24 また、甘い香辛料の代りに腐敗があり、帯の代りにぼろ布があり、巻き毛の代りにはげがあり、腹巻の代りに袋の帯があり、美の代りに焼印があるようになるだろう。
25 あなたの男達は剣で倒れ、あなたの勇士は戦いで倒れる。
26 その門は嘆き、悲しみ、全く衰えて、地の上に座すであろう。

1 まことに、見よ、万軍の主、主は、エルサレムとユダから、ささえとたよりを除かれる。—すべて頼みのパン、すべて頼みの水、
2 勇士と戦士、さばきつかさと預言者、占い師と長老、
3 五十人隊の長と高官、議官と賢い細工人、巧みにまじないをかける者。
4 わたしは、若い者たちを彼らのつかさとし、気まぐれ者に彼らを治めさせる。
5 民はおのおの、仲間同士で相しいたげ、若い者は年寄りに向かって高ぶり、身分の低い者は高慢な者に向かって高ぶる。
6 そのとき、人が父の家で、自分の兄弟をとらえて言う。「あなたは着る物を持っている。私たちの首領になってくれ。この乱れた世を、あなたの手で治めてくれ。」
7 その日、彼は声を張り上げて言う。「私は医者にはなれない。私の家にはパンもなく、着る物もない。私を民の首領にはしてくれるな。」
8 これはエルサレムがつまずき、ユダが倒れたからであり、彼らの舌と行いとが主にそむき、主のご威光に逆らったからである。
9 彼らの顔つきが、そのことを表している。彼らは罪を、ソドムのように現して、隠そうともしなかった。ああ、彼らにわざわいあれ。彼らは悪の報いを受けるからだ。
10 義人は幸いだと言え。彼らは、その行いの実を食べる。
11 悪者にはわざわいあれ。わざわいが彼にふりかかり、その手の報いがふりかかる。
12 わが民よ。幼子が彼をしいたげ、女たちが彼を治める。わが民よ。あなたの指導者は迷わす者、あなたの歩む道をかき乱す。
13 主は論争するために立ち上がり、民をさばくために立つ。
14 主は民の長老たちや、民のつかさたちと、さばきの座に入る。「あなたがたは、ぶどう畑を荒れすたらせ、貧しい者からかすめた物を、あなたがたの家に置いている。
15 なぜ、あなたがたは、わが民を砕き、貧しい者の顔をすりつぶすのか。—万軍の神、主の御告げ—」
16 主は仰せられた。「シオンの娘たちは高ぶり、首を伸ばし、色目を使って歩き、足に鈴を鳴らしながら小またで歩いている。」それゆえ、
17 主はシオンの娘たちの頭の頂をかさぶただらけにし、主はその額をむき出しにされる。
18 その日、主はもろもろの飾り—足飾り、髪の輪飾り、三日月形の飾り物、
19 耳輪、腕輪、ベール、
20 頭飾り、くるぶしの鎖、飾り帯、香の入れ物、お守り札、
21 指輪、鼻輪、
22 礼服、羽織、外套、財布、
23 手鏡、亜麻布の着物、ターバン、かぶり物を除かれる。
24 こうして、良いかおりは腐ったにおいとなり、帯は荒なわ、結い上げた髪ははげ頭、晴れ着は荒布の腰巻きとなる。その美しさは焼け傷となる。
25 あなたの男たちは剣に倒れ、あなたの勇士たちは戦いに倒れ、
26 その門はみな、悲しみ嘆き、シオンはさびれ果てて地に座す。

For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, every stay of bread, and every stay of water;
2 The mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;
3 The captain of fifty, and the man of rank, and the counsellor, and the cunning charmer, and the skilful enchanter.
4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
5 And the people shall oppress one another, every man his fellow, and every man his neighbour; the child shall behave insolently against the aged, and the base against the honourable,
6 For a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father: 'Thou hast a mantle, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand.'
7 In that day shall he swear, saying: 'I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor a mantle; ye shall not make me ruler of a people.'
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of His glory.
9 The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have wrought evil unto themselves.
10 Say ye of the righteous, that it shall be well with him; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him; for the work of his hands shall be done to him.
12 As for My people, a babe is their master, and women rule over them. O My people, they that lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. 
13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the peoples.
14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders of His people, and the princes thereof: 'It is ye that have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses;
15 What mean ye that ye crush My people, and grind the face of the poor?' saith the Lord, the GOD of hosts. 
16 Moreover the LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet;
17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will lay bare their secret parts. 
18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their anklets, and the fillets, and the crescents;
19 the pendants, and the bracelets, and the veils;
20 the headtires, and the armlets, and the sashes, and the corselets, and the amulets;
21 the rings, and the nose-jewels;
22 the aprons, and the mantelets, and the cloaks, and the girdles;
23 and the gauze robes, and the fine linen, and the turbans, and the mantles.
24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet spices there shall be rottenness; and instead of a girdle rags; and instead of curled hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; branding instead of beauty.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and utterly bereft she shall sit upon the ground.
