夏祭り

あっという間に8月となってしまいました。　　近所の公園の「百日紅の花」が満開となりましたが、我家の百日紅はまだちらほらと言うところです。

                                          

昨日は近所の商店街で今回が42回目という夏祭りがありました。　町内の「だんじり」を久しぶりに目にしました。

　　　　　　　　　

                                                                                                  

ところで会話中とか新聞などで時々耳にしたり、見かけてりするのですが自分では使えない「per se」と言う言葉があります。　調べてみました。

Per se means 'by itself' or 'in itself', and is used when you are talking about the qualities of one thing considered on its own, rather than in connection with other things.

敦賀

今週（17日）一泊にて敦賀へ行きました。　特急を使うことなく大阪より湖西線を通り約2時間半で敦賀につきます。　天候は申し分なく快晴でしたが、大変暑い日でした。

何があるのかなと調べてみると、気比の松原、赤レンガ倉庫、気比神宮等が有名だそうです。　街を歩いてみると休日と言う事もあり商店街は人通りが少なくなんとなく過疎化という空気が伺えます。

　　　　

 

タクシーで日本三大松原といわれている気比の松原へ行きましたが、ふーんという感じ。　その後レンガ造りの倉庫、気比神社にゆきました。　気比神社はなかなか立派なものでした。

ここ数日新聞紙上をにぎわしているMerdochに関するニュースです。　その違法な取材方法で批判を浴びTabloid紙New of the Wordのビジネスを閉じてしまったMurdochですが、BSkyBのTOBには意欲的でした。

しかし7月15日のThe Japan TimesによるとRupert Murdoch の悲願であった英国のBSkyBの買収の夢は結局あきらめざるをえなくなったという事でした。　その記事からの抜粋です。

Murdoch had hoped to gain control of the 61 percent BSkyB shares that he doesn't already own.  The takeover - potentially his biggest, most lucrative acquisition - appeared certain to succeed just a week ago, despite concerns about the size of Murdoch's hefty share of the British media market.

2009年の韓国政府および銀行のサーバーに攻撃をかけその機能を麻痺させた源は北朝鮮もしくはそのシンパである可能性が高いのと調査結果がMcAfeeから出されました。　同様の攻撃は2011年にもありこの両者はほぼ間違いなく同一ソースからの攻撃との事です。　その記事の抜粋：

South Korea prosecutors said North Korean hackers were behind the so-called denial-of-servcie attack early this spring, but the North's Ministry of the People' Armed Forces denied it.

denila of service とは（Webopediaより）：

Short for denial-of-service attack, a type of attack on a network that is designed to bring the network to its knees by flooding it with useless traffic. Many DoS attacks, such as the Ping of Death and Teardrop attacks, exploit limitations in the TCP/IP protocols. For all known DoS attacks, there are software fixes that system administrators can install to limit the damage caused by the attacks. But, like viruses, new DoS attacks are constantly being dreamed up by hackers.

IMF総裁

IMF総裁Strauss-Kahnがこともあろうに婦女暴行の疑いで逮捕されIMF総裁の職を解かれました　しかしその後の調べで被害者であるホテルのメイドの主張に疑問がもたれ、またこのメイドが種々の疑惑があった事が判明しました。　Strauss-Kahnは一旦保釈金を払い自宅監禁と言う状況におかれています。 　その記事の抜粋：

Strauss-Kahn had posted $1miliion bail and a $5million bond when he was released in May and agreed to remain under house arrest with the ankle monitor.

ここでankle monitorとは(Wikipedeaより)：

An ankle monitor (commonly called a tether) is a device that individuals under house arrest are often required to wear. At timed intervals, the ankle monitor sends a radio frequency signal containing location and other information to a receiver. If an offender moves outside of an allowed range, the police will be notified. 七夕コンサート

昨夜（7月2日）、京都の勝福寺で第9回七夕コンサートがありました。　ピアノ演奏、民謡、宗教歌、クラッシックギター、ソプラノソロと多彩でした。　　　お寺のお堂でのコンサートで100名位の聴衆のミニコンサートでしたが初夏の夕べ楽しめました。　最後に登場したソプラノ歌手 松井美路子が姪にあたります。　数年前の東京でのコンサート以来でしたがソプラノ歌手としての風格が出てきたように思います。
