　サウジの女性が自国の運転禁止令に刃向かって運転しているのを絶賛してる。サウジは時代遅れだ、と。

　この人の、あるいは、海外の報道するアメリカ人ジャーナリストたちの典型的な手法で、他国の間違った習慣や人権侵害を取り上げて、他国を”遅れた”国として表象し、それでいて、自国の軍隊が搾取してきたアジア人性奴隷については、一言も報道しない。

　自国を批判するときは、ポジティブな面もたくさん指摘して、他国、特に、白人が支配的でない国を批判するときは、おおざっぱに、なるべくネガティブに、そして、センセーショナルに


　遅れたアジア、中東、アフリカを教導して進歩させてあげるというアメリカ例外主義、ヒロイズムというのは、アメリカ人にわりに絶賛されるんでしょうね。

　日本が植民地支配して、他国に教育やインフラを整備していったときも、多くの国民が誇りに思ったんでしょうけど、たぶん、それと似たような感覚があるんじゃないでしょうか。

ヒラリー・クリントンさんからいただいたお手紙は、そんな力強い言葉で締め括られていました。
「女性が輝く社会をつくる」という私の考えを強く支持する、とわざわざお手紙を送ってくれたのです。
女性が輝けば、日本は、世界は、もっと輝く。
「前進あるのみ」です。

　日本の指導者の口先からこうした言葉がでるのは、喜ばしいが、より多くの女性が社会に影響力を及ぼせる社会的地位につけるように、実質的な制度改革も必要であろう。

This seems like a small thing, and many Western countries would kill to have South Korea’s problem: it is hard to imagine British or American parents fretting that their teenagers work too hard. South Korea comes at or near the top of most international comparisons of reading, maths and science. But there are costs. A lot of effort goes into costly credentialism, rather than deep learning. The system excludes late-developing talent: blossom at 25, and it’s too late. And in the very long term it means a smaller country. The expense of educating children for the test is one reason why South Korean women give birth to so few of them. With the lowest fertility rate in the OECD rich-country club, South Korea’s greying threatens to be as rapid as its growth.

　韓国の成長モデルは日本だから、不思議ではないが、western countries の中心の発想も、相変わらず、というべき。

一部に単純に移民推進している”学者”や”活動家”がいるが、あれは怪しい。どこかの企業から支援をうけているのではないか。

移民受け入れは必要であるが、受け入れ態勢側が問題意識をしっかりもつこと、移民に対する日本語教育をしっかりできるか、ということが大切になってくる。

「私はこれまで『在日は日本の宝』といい続けてきた」という言葉も、むなしく映る。「I have a black friend」と例えられるが、それが差別をしていない理由にならないし、在特会の会員や差別者などはよく、「自分には在日の知人・友人がいる」と話す。事実かどうかが問題ではなく、その言葉は自身の持つ差別を誤魔化し、正当化するために過ぎないものであることは明らかだ。都合のいい時だけ「宝」にされ、持ち上げられるのも、変な話だと思う。

DNA confirms that a child found by police in a Gypsy encampment in central Greece is the daughter of a Bulgarian migrant, who says she gave up her baby because she could not afford to care for her.

Sasha Ruseva, a 35-year-old Bulgarian Gypsy, or Roma, said she gave birth to the girl, called Maria, four years ago while working as an olive picker in Greece.

The girl was found last week during a crackdown by Greek authorities on Gypsy settlements. Authorities became suspicious of the couple who claimed to be her parents, because of the girl's blonde hair and blue eyes.

"We gave her, we gifted her, without money," Sashka Ruseva told Bulgaria's TV7 on Friday.

Authorities tracked Ruseva to a gypsy camp in Nikolaevo in rural Bulgaria. She was found living with her husband and several other children, in a home without running water. Five of the couple's children also have blonde hair and blue eyes and resemble Maria.

The Greek Gypsy couple, with whom Ruseva left the girl, were arrested last week for child abduction, a claim they deny.

　拉致の嫌疑を掛けられた夫婦、および、ロマ、ジプシーの人々にもとんだ迷惑だった。

　ナチに虐殺され、いまだに差別で苛まれるジプシーの実質的地位向上なくして、人権に関して、欧州人は大きな顔をすべきではない。
