自由会議のサナ衛星テレビを襲撃した
イラク自由会議 ２０１１年２月１６日
バグダッドのタハリール［解放］広場でのデモが７日間続いた後、イラク政府の部隊がデモ参加者たちを包囲して、タハリール広場でのデモをやめる
か、アブ・ナワス通り（デモ隊が集まっていたところから数キロ離れてい
る）に集会を移動させるかどちらかを選べと通告してきた。デモ参加者たちがその要求を拒否した時、政府部隊はメディアが現場を取材するのを妨害
し、デモ参加者を肉体的に攻撃し殴打し始め、同じ部隊がサナテレビの本部
に進入してメンバーを脅迫し、デモの時に撮影されたビデオテープを回収し
ようとして、サナテレビの全ての機材を押収した。
イラク自由会議はこのような行動と弾圧行為を糾弾するにあたり、デモは
自由を愛する全ての勢力と共に正当な要求が受け入れられるまで続くと断言
するものである。

An open letter to the Iraqi government and Iraq embassy in Japan:
The Iraqi government troops attacked and beat the demonstrators of IFC (Iraq Freedom Congress) gathering in Tahrir Square in Baghdad as well as broke
into the headquarter of IFC Sana TV and confiscated all its quipments, 16 February 2011.
We are very outraged by such repressive actions. We consider the Iraqi government directly responsible for this unfair and illegal oppression.
Hundreds of programs of Sana TV exposing the war crimes and corruptions of the US occupation and the Iraqi government have been broadcast not only in satellite TV but also have been uploaded in the website with English subtitles and with Japanese narration for over 3 years. More and more people, including the veterans against war, workers, and citizens in US, UK, Japan and all over the world, have promoted solidarity with IFC. We believe that such plots to oppress the progressive movement in Iraq will be in vain.
While we express the most sincere solidarity with IFC and Sana TV, we request the Iraqi government to reply to the demands as follows:
1) Apologize the protestors, IFC and Sana TV for attacking them.
2) Return back all the equipments of Sana TV and compensate for all the
cost.
3) Punish the responsible persons for this attack.
4) Withdraw all the occupation forces from Iraq immediately.
