　毎年4月17日は「パレスチナ人の囚人の日」（“Palestinian Prisoners' Day”）。
　また因みに、同じ日、1946年4月17日はシリア独立記念日でもあり、本年で72周年となった。

　「毎年4月17日、パレスチナ人の捕虜の方々、パレスチナ人の人々、そして世界は、国際的な日としてパレスチナ人の囚人の方々との連帯を表明する。
　最初のパレスチナ人捕虜、マフムード・ヒジャジ（Mahmoud Hijazi）がパレスチナ人の抵抗との囚人交換で解放された1974年以来、4月17日はイスラエルの占領刑務所に投獄されて自由を求められたパレスチナ人の闘いを記念する為に、抗議、集会、デモ行進、フォーラム、その他の日です。」

　イスラエルの刑務所には、ヨルダン川西岸と東エルサレムでの占領に抵抗した事によって、6万人以上のパレスチナ人が収容されている。

　日本YWCA 、2017年5月10日付ニュース：「【拡散してください】パレスチナYWCAからの呼びかけ：パレスチナの囚人たちの『自由と尊厳』ハンガーストライキを支援してください！」より

　　「現在、イスラエルの監獄において、約1600人のパレスチナ人囚人たちが、監獄における人権侵害に抗議してハンガーストライキを行っています。
　　イスラエルの監獄では、子どもや女性を含む7,000人のパレスチナ人囚人が、十分な食事や衛生環境、弁護士の接見や家族の面会が確保されない苛酷な環境に置かれ、拷問や暴力、独房への拘禁など非人道的な扱いを受けています。
　　イスラエル占領下のパレスチナでは、意見の表明、デモや政党への参加などを理由に日常的に逮捕が行われ、イスラエル当局や入植者による家屋の破壊・奪取や暴力が横行しています。5月7日に東エルサレム市内で、武装したイスラエル兵を「ナイフで襲おうとした」として射殺された16歳の少女を含め、今年に入ってイスラエル兵に殺害されたパレスチナ人は20人にのぼりました。このような行為が罪に問われることはなく、「何をしても責任を問われない」という空気が蔓延しています。
　　5月9日現在、囚人たちのハンストは23日目に入っています。
　　パレスチナYWCAのユース・グループは、日本YWCAを含む世界の若者・仲間にむけて、パレスチナの囚人たちと連帯して共に立つことを呼びかけています。動画は、ユース・グループのメンバーによる、塩と水だけで命を繋いでいる囚人たちを支える意味を込めて塩水を飲み干す「Salt-water Challenge」と呼ばれるアピール行動です。
　　日本YWCAは、イスラエルによる占領下で暮らす、女性や子どもをはじめとするパレスチナの人々に連帯しています。少しでも多くの人にこのことを知ってもらえるよう、情報を拡散し、一緒に声をあげましょう！」

　4月10日（？）
　レバノンの首都ベイルートで、パレスチナ人の囚人の日に向けてイベントでパレスチナ人捕虜との連帯を示し、世界の人々の意識を目覚めさせ、イスラエルに対して逮捕時、尋問中、占領軍の刑務所、軍キャンプ内での尋問、虐待、拷問が在る、刑務所体制の議題を提示した。パレスチナの政治犯の数は増え続け、パレスチナ国家のアイデンティティを侵害する恣意的な法律が存続する。
　現イスラエルの国際法違反の問題に関する行動を取る為に、連帯を強調したイベントやキャンペーンを開催して、国際社会に対してのロビー活動をしている。
　直近の3月には、イスラエルは600人以上のパレスチナ人を逮捕し、その内の95人は未成年者だった。先週、別のパレスチナ人がイスラエル政権の拘禁が基となって死亡した。占領されたパレスチナ領では、実質的に平均すると、各家庭に少なくとも1人がイスラエル刑務所に収容されている事となっている。
　囚人の問題は全パレスチナ国民の問題であり、囚人の解放がパレスチナ人全員の解放であることを示す事実となる。

　4月4日までに
　　アヘド・エト・タミミさんの弁護士が、彼女の性的嫌がらせ（セクシャル・ハラスメント）を告発した。

　4月9日（？）
　　アヘド・タミミさんの父、バシル・エト・タミミ氏
　　　「娘が尋問のためにイスラエル裁判所によって意図的に拘置所から別の場所に移送され、弁護士は（12時間の）尋問時間の内たった2時間分の映像を入手できた」
　　　「占領軍は娘がまだ子どもであるという事実を考慮していない。尋問に女性職員を派遣しなかった。このようにしてあらゆる国際契約や国際法に違反したのである」
　　　「我々はこの諜報員に関して訴えを申し立てたが、プロセスがどうなったのか知らない。占領に正義はない。彼らが我々に情けをかけることがないことを知りながら、我々は自分たちに提供されている機会の枠組みで占領軍と戦おうとしているのである」

　　　「私は、あの少女（アヘド・エト・タミミ）は少なくとも膝を撃たれるべきであったと考えている。そうすれば、一生自宅軟禁の刑に処されることになっていた」

　　　「（このスモトリッチ議員の問題発言に対し、）恥を知るべきだ。先週イスラエルの入植者がイスラエル軍の兵士に投石したが、彼らに発砲したであろうか」

　　　神である主、常にいまし、昔いまし、後に来られる方、万物の支配者がこう言われる。「わたしはアルファであり、オメガである。」

　　But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
　　Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus, who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”

　　So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”
