2020年の元旦メッセージ

本年明けましておめでとうございます。
例年通り、年賀状に代わる「年賀メール」をお送り致します。

2019年のテーマは「出発の年」でした。
結婚という人生の節目を経て、正に新たな出発を迎えられた1年となりました。
多くの旧友と再会する機会にもなり、皆様に対する感謝の気持ちが更に深まりました。
仕事面では新たな発見が絶えず、尊敬できる業界の諸先輩方と交流を持ち、ご指導頂くこともできました。

本年のテーマは、「与える年」にしたいと思います。

昔から好奇心と向上心が自分の強みであると自負しておりましたが、それだけでは自己満足で終わってしまいます。
家族に、友人に、同僚に、業界に、国に、世界に、他人に、そして歴史に。
笑顔や言葉のような小さいgivingから寄付や社会貢献、あわよくば歴史をちょっぴり変える自分なりのワンポイントまで意識して邁進したいと思います。

2020年が皆様にとって幸せ多き年となりますよう心より祈念申し上げます。
本年も、ご指導ご鞭撻の程よろしくお願い申し上げます。

Happy 2020! I trust all is well with you and your family.
As always, I have condensed Christmas cards and New Year greetings into a single message.

Getting married was definitely the biggest event in 2019.
My niece was a charming flower girl and my nephew stole the show with his zigzagged walk as ring bearer.
The wedding also allowed me to reconnect with old friends/colleagues and spend time with the extended family.

My theme for 2020 will be: a year of giving

Curiosity and discovery can be fulfilling, but much more so if shared.
This year, I hope to give back what I have received over the last four decades.
To family, to friends, to society, to the planet.
It would be great to make history, but appearing in someone's diary may be just as rewarding.

Finally, I would love to hear from you and correspond on an individual basis.
Communication is a two-way street; I have put my latest "out there" and would be delighted to have your latest "out here."
