Iceland's financial miracle started to dramatically unravel as Glitnir, the country's third largest bank, was nationalised after its short-term funding dried up.アイスランドの銀行が逝って、ロンドンの有名デパートと玩具屋死亡って…イタイイタイイタイ…。
アイスランドの金融奇跡は、同国第3位の銀行グリトニルが短期資金切れで国有化され、劇的な崩壊を開始した。
The bank's emergency rescue threatened to directly impact the UK high street. As a result of Glitnir's ロ600m (」480m) bail-out, the bank's largest shareholder, Stodir, filed for administration. Stodir, which owned 32pc of the bank, had been due to buy a 39pc stake in the House of Fraser and Hamleys owner Baugur. However the deal was halted at the eleventh hour due to Stodir's administration filing.
同行の緊急救済は、イギリス経済に直接的影響を与えそうだった。
EUR6億を投じたグリトニル銀行救済の結果、同行の筆頭株主であるStodirが破産申請を行ったのである。
同行の株式を32%保有するStodirは、ハウス・オブ・フレイザーとハムレーズの親会社バウガーの株式を39%買収する予定だった。
しかしこの計画は、Stodirの破産申請により、土壇場でご破算となった。
