The young heroines of famous Japanese anime movies are often figured in promotion posters with the appearance of "looking back".

As you know, in the book of Genesis, there is a story concerning a woman who became a pillar of salt against the Lord's order "look not back".

And they brought him forth, and set him without the city: and there they spoke to him, saying : Save thy life : look not back, neither stay thou in all the country about: but save thyself in the mountain, lest thou be also consumed.
(Genesis 19-17)

And his wife looking behind her, was turned into a statue of salt.

最近、アニメ作品の背後に日本神話が隠されていること、それに気付いた方が増えて嬉しく思いますが、日本神話をそのまま対応させても真の理解に到達しません。むしろ解釈を大きく間違えてしまう可能性があります。

何故なら、日本神話そのものが巧妙に記号化された、いわば暗号文のようなものであり、日本神話をアニメ解釈に適応させるなら、まず日本神話そのものをデコード（暗号解読）するのが最初に必要な作業となるからです。特に、最近の作品は敢えて神話による誤誘導を狙っている節も見受けられ（「岩戸」を名字にするなど）、注意しなければなりません。

「振り返る少女」の解読には、複雑に絡み合った歴史的背景を理解せねばならず、これをブログ上で表現するのはたいへん困難です。もしもお招きいただく機会があれば、再び声の出演で説明できるようにしたいと考えています。
