アメリカは国家機密をリークしたとして元NSA(National Security Agency)のContractorであったSnowdenの引き渡しを各国に依頼しています。 しかしSnowdenはホンコンからモスクワ、キューバを経てエクアドルへの亡命が濃厚な状況です。　エクアドルはベネズエラと同様アメリカに対してこれまで強硬な政策を取ってきおりSnowdenの引き渡しは起こりそうにありません。

この事によりアメリカはスパイ行為に関して今まで非難の矛先を向けていた中国、ロシアからの反撃を受けることになりそうです　

6月23日のThe Japan TimesにはSnowdenの記事に加え次のHeadlineがありました。　"U.K surveillance operation bigger than U.S. effort"

この記事の抜粋：

The Guardian and GCHQ's probes do more than just monitor the data live; its eavesdroppers can store content for three days and metadata - info about who was talking to whom, for how long, from where, and through what medium - for 30days.

ここでmetadtaは -  - で囲まれた事を意味していると思うのですがもう少し普遍的な意味を調べてみました。

データについてのデータ。あるデータそのものではなく、そのデータに関連する情報のこと。データの作成日時や作成者、データ形式、タイトル、注釈などが考えられる。データを効率的に管理したり検索したりするために重要な情報である。文書や画像などを保存するファイル形式の多くは、ファイルの先頭にメタデータを格納し、続いてデータ本体を格納するようにできている。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

"beggar-thy-neigbor policy"

6月22日のThe Japan TimesのEditorialに"Abenomics"に関する記事がありました。　Titleは"Kudos and causion for Mr.Abe"です。

その記事より：

Deliberately trying to drive the yen’s value down will invite criticism that Japan is pursuing a beggar-thy-neighbor policy and also cause difficulties for certain domestic industries due to the soaring costs of fuel and other essential imports.

ここで"beggar-thy-neigbor policy"は初めて聞く表現でしたので調べてみると次のようにありました。

That attempts to cure a country's balance of trade, inflation, and unemploymen problems by practices that harm the economic interests of its trading partners. It usually takes the form of (1) restricting imports by quotas or by raising tariffs, (2) currency devaluation that makes imports more expensive and exports cheaper, or (3) currency appreciation that reduces domestic inflation but makes its products more expensive in the importing countries.

 

この中で"Abenomics"が取っている方法は(2)のcureency devaluationです。　今のところ他国から直接的な非難は出ていなおうですが
