朝顔

７月３１日（土）

まあ何と嬉しい事だろう、朝顔初花、二輪が咲いた。

莟が沢山見えるのでこれからは毎朝とても楽しみだ。

　

朝顔の美しさに見入っていると、急に雨が降り出した。

部屋に取り込んで朝顔を愛でながらの朝食となった。

The morning glory which we were waiting for finally bloomed.
The blue of the morning glory shined in our eyes.
While we saw the beauty of the morning glory, it had begun to rain.
We brought a morning glory into our dining room, and we had breakfast.

木槿

７月１１日（日）

裏庭では木槿が咲き始めた。これは「底紅」とか茶人の千宗旦が好んだことから

「宗旦木槿」と言われている。

バカラの花入れに入れてみた。

朝開いた花は夕刻には閉じてしまうが・・・。　

A rose of Sharon(Mukuge)  has begun to bloom in our backyard.   Sotan Senno of 

the master of tea ceremony called this flower "bottom rouge(Sokobeni)" and liked it. 

It is said to be "Sotan Mukuge".   I arranged the flower in a vase of the Baccarat. 

The flower which bloomed in the morning is closed in an evening, but ...

そろそろ終わり・・・

７月９日（金）

あれほど、咲き盛った紫陽花ももう花盛りは過ぎて、少しずつ花色は移ろい始めて来た。

それはそれで何とも風情があって良いものだ。

三つ四つ、写真に収めてみた。

Is over soon !

The hydrangeas in full bloom at our garden were over the best season.
The color of the flowers have begun to be discolored little by little.

The flower which faded is good and tasteful however.
I took three four photographs.

バックヤード

７月７日（水） 

雨の合間を久し振りに裏庭に行って驚いた、

茗荷が庭中に群生している。その丈は胸の辺りまでで分け行って行くのも躊躇われる。

毎年かなりたくさんの茗荷が採れるがこの分だと今夏は２００個位になりそうだ。

I was surprised when I went to the backyard after a long absence.
Japanese ginger（Myouga） grows up in high of 80 centimeters in colonies in the backyard.

I wonder to hesitate to set foot in the area.
Considerably much harvest of Japanese ginger than average year, it seem to get  200 Japanese gingers this summer.

月桃の花

 ７月４日（火）

ミセスマスダの短歌仲間のSさんから「月桃の花」の写真が届いた。

「月桃」は沖縄地方特有の植物の様だ。

沖縄へ旅したSさんから「月桃の花」の美しさを聞いたミセスマスダは

暫くして、鎌倉のフローリストでその種を見かけたのでSさんに届けたところ

田園都市線沿線に住むSさんはその種を植え熱心に育て始めた。

それ以来六，七年経つだろうか、この夏始めて花が咲いたと大喜びの御様子、

ミセスマスダも感動の余りその写真をここにUPさせて頂いた。

人の背丈よりも高い大きな株に育って９本の花がついたとの事だ。

　

「月桃の種」

Mrs. Masuda gave a seeds of "the Moon Peach(gettou)" to her poem friend in old days.
The photograph of the "moon peach blossom" arrived from her.  

She took care the plant from seeds and the flower seemed to bloom after 7 years in this summer. It was very impressive.

山百合

６月３０日（水）

裏の幼稚園との境の辺り、山百合が咲いた。

ここ一、二年、幼稚園の新築工事が行われていて花を見る事が出来ず、

無くなってしまったと思っていたところ見事復活したようで嬉しい。

A gold-banded lily(Yama-Yuri)  bloomed at the boundary of the kindergarten behind our house.

浜木綿

６月２４日（木）

浜木綿の白さが清々しい。

房総辺り、浜木綿の群生する海辺を歩きたいなあ。

The white of the flower of the crinum(浜木綿) at our garden is refreshing.
I want to walk the seaside of Boosoo peninsula growing in colonies of the crinum.

玄関までの小さな花たち

６月１６日（水）

門を潜って階段を上がるとこの小さな花たちが迎えてくれる。

小さいだけに、とりわけ愛らしい。

後ろに写っている大きな壺はミスターマスダの作品、十数年前に

知人の登り窯で焼いたもの。

There are these small flowers when we walk up the stairs from the front gate of our house.
As they are small, they are lovely among others.
The big pot in the photo is  Mr. Masuda's works.

南天の花

６月１２日（土）

裏庭には南天が茂っている。その南天の実生なのだろうか、表庭には

知らぬ間に何本もの南天が育っている。

「難を転ずる」というので抜いてしまうのも憚られて大きくなる儘にしている。

リビングルームから良く見える南天は丈が低いので花がつき始めたのが良く見える。

Several nandins(Nan-Ten) grow in our front garden.
We are told the name of the tree in a meaning to ("Nan"-change a misfortune　

"Ten"-into good luck). This is important tree.

We can look at the nandin well from our living room.

緋合歓（ヒネム）

６月７日（月）

庭の草花にも夏が来たようだ。

緋合歓が一つ、二つ、咲き始めた、莟が沢山見えるので、

九月ごろまでは愉しめそうだ。

Summer season seemed to come to  our garden.
Calliandra eriophylla(Hi-Nemu) has begun to bloom.
As it shows a lot of buds, we are able to enjoy the flower until around September.

紫陽花

６月１日（火）

我家の裏庭では、紫陽花が花季（ハナドキ）を迎えている。

御近所の紫陽花も写させて頂いて、今日は紫陽花のオン・パレード。

The hydrangeas are  full bloom at our backyard of our house.
I also took the neighboring hydrangea in a photograph.
Therefor today's blog was hydrangeas on-parade.

菖蒲

５月３０日（日）

三十年程前、数種類の菖蒲を育てていたが、何時のまにか消えてしまった。

残念だとは思ったけれど、育て方が悪いのだろうと諦めていた。

それが、どういうわけだろう皐月の間から莟がスクーット立ち上がって

今朝、花を見せた。たった一輪だが嬉しさは格別。

We planted several kinds of iris (Shoubu) in my garden approximately 30 years ago. 

But the iris have disappeared while we did not notice.
Though we were disappointed, we thought that our care for iris would be bad.
A bud of the iris stood up from between the azalea which would be what kind of reason. 

Then it had bloomed this morning.  It is only one flower, but our  joy is particular.

白撫子

５月２７日（木）

白撫子が咲き始めた。

白い花を好むミセスマスダは、とても、愛おしいと喜んでいる。

A white dianthus(Shiro-Nadeshiko) has begun to bloom at our garden.

Mrs. Masuda loving white flowers  was pleased to the white dianthus 

which was very endearing sweetly.

山法師

５月２０日（木）

山法師が花時を迎えている。孫息子が誕生した折に記念樹として植えた。

孫はこの五月の誕生日には二十三歳に成る。

「四照花」とも表記され、四方を照らす花という事で広く愛されている。

花水木とは同属であるようだ。

The flower of "Yamaboushi" a sort of dogwood bloomed.
When a grandson was born, we planted it as a memorial tree.
The grandchild becomes 23 years old on a birthday of this May.
It is named "Shishouka" also.It is the meaning called the flower lighting up every direction.
"Yamaboushi"  seems to be the same sort of American dogwood.

オリーブの花とレモンの花

５月１５日（土）  

息子が海外勤務の折に二鉢預って以来十余年、今年もオリーブは沢山の花を見せている。

それでも実るのは数えるほど。将に観賞用というところ。

The olive blooms many flowers this year.
However, there are really only few numbers of fruit at the season of autumn.
It is a tree for the admiration.

先日UPしたレモンの花、毎日、これでもか、これでもかという程花が散る。

花は２０００位かと思うが、毎日、毎日、掃ききれない程の花弁が落ちる。

初冬、見事なレモン２００個ほどが我々を楽しませてくれる。

The flower of the lemon which we showed with our Blog  the other day.
Every day, a lot of lemon flowers were gone and the petal of 2000 flowers 

scattered on the ground. We swept them busy every day.
In early winter, approximately 200 wonderful lemons will be our harvest.
