殺風景だった我家の水甕が賑やかになった。
陶器で緋鯉のフィギャーを作って浮かせてみた。
隣の猫ちゃんも驚くだろう。

海を見たくなりJR芝浦駅に行った。
駅は東芝工場内にあり一般客は降りることが出来ない変わった駅だ。
磯の香・潮風を感じつつプラットフォームで飽きることなく
”つばさ橋”が架かる海を眺めていた。

ミセスマスダは毎朝家の内外を掃除しているが、その折、散歩をする方何人かと
親しくさせて頂いているようだ。
その内の一人、同年配の女性の方が沢山の柚子を届け門扉に掛けておいてくれた。
今日は冬至、贅沢な入浴を楽しめそうだ。
このバスケットは、アメリカ大陸横断旅行の折ニューメキシコで求めた物。
ネイティブアメリカン・ナバホ族の手製である。

いろはもみじの下、満天星躑躅（どうだんつつじ）の紅葉も日毎深まり格別の美しさだ。
ダイニングルームの大きなガラス超しに陽光に輝く数々の紅葉を眺めながら頂く食事は
幸せそのものである。

万両の朱実も美しい、
実生で増えた万両は庭のあちらこちらに姿を見せている。
毎年、お正月用にと何人もの方に差し上げる千両は青い実は沢山付けたのに、
色付く前に姿を消してしまった。

木瓜が咲いた。五十数年前、父が建てたこの家にその時からある木なのだが、
どういうわけか段々小さくなってしまった。
だが初冬から春先まで咲き続けてくれる。

千葉の友人から初物だと言って「から付き落花生」を送って来てくれた。
から付き落花生は好きだ。
シンガポールのラッフルズホテル、落花生の殻が床一面のロング・バーを懐かしく思い出す。
A friend of Chiba gave "the peanut with the husk" of the firstling to me.

これで年末年始のお酒の用意はバッチリ。
