→応援するとは、簡単に考えると、支持すると考えて support や、先の問題の『ファン』と同じで、like やlove を使うのもよい。

・I am a big fan of the Tigers.
・I like the Tigers team very much.
・I love the Tigers team.


他に、応援するということは、勝ってほしいので

・I want the Tigers to win.

など。

4. 仕事中も、野球の途中経過が気になって、仕事が手につかない。

→気になるとは？心配である（worry)。気になるのは、言い換えると、忘れられない
ということ（can't forget)。気になるとは、いつもそのことを考えること（think)。

さて、野球の途中経過はどうなるか。勝っているか、負けているかということ。
・Are they winning or losing?
・Which side is winning or losing?
・Who is going to win the game?

仕事が手につかないとは？これは、仕事に集中(focus / concentrate on) できないこと。

まとめると

・He is so worried about who (which team) is going to win the game, and can't concentrate on his work.

・Is his team winning the game? That' all he cares about. He is so worried, and has trouble focusing on his work.

・He is busy thinking about how the baseball game is going, and can't do his work well.

・He can't work while his team is playing. He just hopes his team will win.

など。


ほかに、『気になって』というのは、cannot help ～ing （～せざるを得ない）も使える。
・He can't help thinking about the game.
