U.S. President Donald Trump says he wants peace through strength on the Korean Peninsula. In a speech to South Korea's National Assembly, Trump listed North Korean human rights abuses, called for countries to isolate the regime and spoke of U.S. strength while delivering this warning:

"When I say to the North: Do not underestimate us, and do not try us, we will defend our common security, our shared prosperity, and our sacred liberty."
North Korea has fired off a barrage of missiles this year, although none in more than a month. It also conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test in September.
Trump wrapped up his speech by opening a door to diplomacy with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
(Donald Trump / U.S. President)
"North Korea is not the paradise your grandfather envisioned. It is a hell that no person deserves. Yet despite every crime you have committed against God and man, we will offer a path to a much better future.
