【印象に残った一行】
中学生だった私はもうすぐ四十。私たちは瞬きをするごとに年を取っていく。この調子でうけば、目がさめたらいつの間にかさらに二十年経過、そんな日が来るかもしれない。

【コメント】
確かにエロい部分もある。

FRENCH, BRITISH BOATS CLASH OVER SCALLOPS英仏“ホタテ戦争”

And now to an international dispute dubbed the "Scallop Wars." French and British officials are in talks after fishermen clashed at sea over access to scallops.
Tensions flared between fishermen on Tuesday in waters between the two countries. Around 35 French boats reportedly rammed five British vessels, before rocks were thrown and insults were exchanged.
The dispute focuses on the fact that the French are restricted by law from scallop fishing between May and October in order to sustain stock. But British boats are legally permitted to fish year-round, and French fishermen are angry about that.
Tuesday's incident was the latest in a string of clashes in a dispute lasting over a decade. No one was injured, but several boats were damaged.
Fishermen from both sides have also pledged to sit down on land in order to work things out.

微子第十八の四

【漢文】
齊人歸女樂、季桓子受之、三日不朝、孔子行。

【書き下し文】
斉人(せいひと)、女楽(じょがく)を帰(おく)る。季桓子(きかんし)これを受く。三日朝(ちょう)せず。孔子行(さ)る。

【現代語訳】
斉が魯に女性の舞踊楽団を贈りました。魯の宰相である季桓子(きかんし)はこれを受け取り、三日も通って朝廷に出頭しませんでした。孔子はこれに失望して、魯を去られました。

【English】
Qi sent female band and dance troupe to Lu as a gift. Ji Huan Zi accepted it and did not attend the palace for three days. Confucius was disappointed by that and left Lu.

『論語』とは
読んで字の如く「論じ語る」、孔子と弟子達や要人達との間に交された対話録。
『論語』は私たちの生き方の原点を見つめた思索の宝庫であり、人間性を磨く叡智が凝縮した永遠の古典。
読めば読むほど胸に深く沁み込む簡潔な言葉の数々。
『孟子』『大学』『中庸』と併せて儒教における「四書」の一つに数えられる。
全20編（学而第一～堯曰第二十） 構成され、編の名称は各編の最初の二文字を採ったものであり内容上の意味はない。
したがって、学而第一から順に読む必要はなくどこから読んでもかまわない。
