１２月１１日（金）

家でも樹木が色づき始めた。

紅枝垂れもみじ、これはとても美しい！！

The tree of our garden has begun to change color.
Rouge hangs down maple（Benishidare), this are very beautiful!

いろはもみじ　　

 The Iroha maple.

錦木　隣家との塀の瓦のところ、赤い葉を見せている

The Nishikigi maple.  We look at the red leaf on the tile of the wall.

木瓜

１２月８日（火）

木瓜が咲いた。五十数年前、父が建てたこの家にその時からある木なのだが、

どういうわけか段々小さくなってしまった。

だが初冬から春先まで咲き続けてくれる。

A Japanese quince bloomed.
There is the tree in our house which my father built 55 years ago.
The tree has gradually become small somehow year by year.
But it continues blooming from early winter to the early spring.

南天

１２月１日（火）

久し振りに裏庭に行ってみると南天の実が色づいていた。

南天は「難を転ずる」と言って縁起の良い樹である。

令和三年のお正月にはミスターマスダが作った大きな瓶に

活けてみよう。

The fruit of the nandin (nannten) changed color  when I went to the backyard.
It is said, "nandin make change the misfortune to the good luck" and a nandin is a lucky tree.
I will make the flower arrangement of  nandin for the New year  holidays in the big flower vase  which Mr. Masuda made.

レモン

１１月２８日（土）

檸檬・レモンの実が美しく色付き始めた。

結婚記念日の記念にと植えた一鉢のレモンが二十二年経って、

ここ数年は二百個程のレモンが実る。

今年は五十六回目の結婚記念日を迎える。

The fruit of a lemon, the lemon has begun to change color beautifully.
It is the lemon tree  which we set in commemoration of a wedding anniversary.
Then 22 years pass, the lemon approximately 200 grows now.
The 56th wedding anniversary this year.

山茶花

１１月２６日（木）

淡いピンクの山茶花に続いて、濃いピンクの山茶花も咲き始めた。

白梅の下、小振りながら毎年見事な花付きで愉しまさせてもらっている。

Following a light pink sasanqua, the thick pink sasanqua has begun to bloom.
The wonderful flower blooms every year although being small-sized 

under the white plum blossoms.

菊

１１月２５日（水）

昔、数種類の嵯峨菊を植えたことがある。

年月が経って殆ど消えてしまったが、この臙脂色の菊だけが残った。

花は幾分大振りになってしまって嵯峨菊の風情は消えつつもあるが

毎年、この花が咲くと冬に入ってゆく。

We  have planted several kinds of  Saga-chrysanthemum in old days.
Time passed, and it had almost disappeared, but only a chrysanthemum 

of this dark red was left.  Winter has come when this flower blooms.

三ッ池公園の銀杏

１１月１８日（水）

何時もの散歩道。

三ッ池公園はすっかり秋模様。

銀杏の黄色が目にまぶしい。

My usual promenade.
Mitsuike Park is likely really in autumn.
The yellow of the ginkgo is dazzling to eyes.

つわぶき

１１月１５日（日）

石蕗―つわぶき―が咲いた。この冬はたった一花だけのようだ。

おかしいなあ、近年の気候変動の所為だろうか、家では、今年、

何本かの木が枯れてしまった。芙蓉・額紫陽花・沙羅などである。

夕顔はとうとう咲かなかった。

A Tsuwabuki  (Leopard plant) bloomed.
Only one of them bloomed for this season.
It's strange‼ 　Several trees have died for the climate change of these days.
It is cotton rose, Forehead hydrangea and Sara.
The  evening glory did not bloom after all.

柚味噌

１１月１２日（木）

ミセスマスダが友人から柚子を頂いたので「柚味噌」－ゆうみそー

を作った。以前、京都姉小路・「八百三」で柚味噌を求めた時の器に

入れ、いささかなりとも京気分を味わう。

「八百三」は享保２年―１７２７年―創業の老舗。

由緒ある店構え、北大路魯山人の扁額には深い趣がある。

As a friend gave citron to Mrs. Masuda, she made "citron miso" - Yuumiso.
The citron miso which she bought at Kyoto Anekouji-alley, "Yaosan" was filled in 

the beautiful container on old days. 

She filled the container with her homemade miso and tasted a feeling of Kyoto.
"Yaosan" is a long-established store founded in 1727.
The framed picture of  Rosanjin  displayed in front of the shop, 

and we feel flavor of the history.

山茶花

１１月１１日（水）

山茶花が竹垣の間から顔を出している。

この木はそれなりに大きいので、これから咲き続く花が楽しみだ。

A sasanqua makes it bloom between bamboo fences.
As this tree is big, the flower which will bloom from now on, and continues with  pleasure.

野紺菊

１１月１０日（火）

楓の木の下辺り、あちらこちら好き勝手に野紺菊が咲き始めた。

樹木が紅葉し始めるとこの花が咲く。

花言葉は「長寿と幸福」だそうだ。

もう一つ「忘れられない想い」という花言葉もあるようだ。

Under  the maple tree, Aster ageratoides(Dark blue wild Chrysanthemum) 

begun to bloom at  here and there.
When a tree begins to turn red, this flower blooms.
The flower language seems to be "longevity and happiness".
Another flower language is "unforgettable memory".

秋の陽を浴びて、小さな花や実も愛らしい。

藍

１０月２９日（木）

庭のあちらこちらで、晩夏からずっと桃色の花を見せていた藍、

このところの朝夕も冷え込みに秋の色に移り変わってきた。

藍染めの染料として大事な植物である。

An indigo plant made a pink flower bloom at many places of our garden on summer end.
The indigo plant changed in an autumn color due to the cooling of morning and evening.
An indigo plant is important plant for the indigo dyeing.

秋明菊

1０月２５日（日）

秋明菊がやっと咲き始めた。例年、秋の彼岸頃咲くのだが、今年は一か月も遅れている。

京都・貴船辺りに多く見られることから貴船菊との別名を持つ。

A Shuumei Chrysanthemum( A Japanese anemone) bloomed at our garden.
It blooms in the early autumn usually.
One month delayed this year.
It blooms around Kyoto Kibune district , so that it has an
another name Kibune Chrysanthemum.

焼き松茸

１０月２２日（木）

今日は父の命日だ。

松茸を好んだ父の仏壇に供えた後、焼き松茸で食した。

It is an anniversary of my father's death today. 

I offered the matsutake mushroom which was a favorite of father in the Buddhist altar.　

A matsutake mushroom is like the good harvest this autumn.
