Bronze Bell in Toyohashi

Ancient bronze bells unearthed in Japan are called "Dotaku". Mysteriously, it is unknown even now for what purpose they were used.

Also in Toyohashi city, Aichi prefecture, several Dotakus had been found and they are called "Ina-Dotaku".


The Toyohashi University of Technology is located on the hilltop once used for training grounds of the former Japanese Army.

第2次世界大戦が終わり、軍用地は民生用に転換されたと考えたいところですが、どうも事はそう単純ではないことが、この1月に現地を訪れて色々分かってきたのです。

豊橋で見つかった銅鐸はその形状パターンから伊奈銅鐸と呼ばれます。銅鐸は青銅製の「鈴(すず)」であることに注意です。
