一昨日28日の未明、パプアニューギニアの地滑り災害に関する記事を投稿しましたが、それまで2000人を超える被害かと大々的に報道されたのにも拘わらず、この2日間、世界各国の主要メディアの更新が止まっています。

本日(30日)付のオーストラリアABCニュースの記事を読んだところ、犠牲者数の情報は混乱しており、地元機関の発表による正式な犠牲者数は160人程度だと大幅に下方修正されています。

この数字は、私が入手した情報と大きな隔たりがあるだけでなく、記事の更新がどうして世界的に行われなくなったのか？そして大幅下方修正されたものだけが報道されているのか不可解なことだらけです。
