◆内容紹介◆

いじめっ子のジュリアン、オーガストの幼なじみのクリストファー、優等生のシャーロットの3人の視点から語られる「もうひとつのワンダー・ストーリー」。
この本の中ではオギーは脇役であり、オギーとの出会いによってそれぞれがどのように影響を受けて変化していったかを描いている。
冒頭には、続編は書かないつもりでいた著者が『ワンダー』刊行後に米国で起こった「ジュリアンになるな」運動に違和感を持ち、本作を書くことにした経緯がつづられている。

「続編は書かない」と言っていた作者がこの作品を書いた理由、それは米国で「いじめっ子ジュリアンになるな」という運動が起こってしまったから。
「ジュリアンには、ジュリアンが語るべき物語がある」という作者は、「ジュリアンをもっと理解するために」この物語を書きました。

本書は、「いじめっ子」ジュリアン、幼い頃からオーガストのそばにいた幼なじみのクリストファー、学校の案内役になった優等生の女の子シャーロットの、3人の「ふつうの子」による、それぞれのワンダー・ストーリーです。

INIESTA MAKES MOVE OFFICIALイニエスタ選手 Ｊ１神戸に移籍

Spanish soccer legend Andres Iniesta has been speaking about his move to the J. League. On Thursday here in Tokyo, he put pen to paper to officially join Vissel Kobe after nearly 20 years at Barcelona.
The 34-year-old midfielder signed a three-year deal. He's expected to earn nearly 30 million dollars a year.

"I came to Japan to help my new team, share my soccer knowledge, and offer my skills. I want to help take the team and Japanese soccer to the next level."

Iniesta appeared with club owner Hiroshi Mikitani, who was instrumental in bringing the star to Japan. Mikitani is CEO of online retailer Rakuten, which also sponsors Barcelona's kit. Mikitani unveiled Iniesta's shirt with the same number 8 he wore in Spain.

子曰、古者民有三疾、今也或是之亡也、古之狂也肆、今之狂也蕩、古之矜也廉、今之矜也忿戻。古之愚也直、今之愚也詐而已矣。

【書き下し文】
子曰わく、古者(いにしえ)、民に三疾(さんしつ)あり。今や或いは是(これ)亡(な)きなり。古(いにしえ)の狂や肆(し)、今の狂や蕩(とう)。古の矜(きょう)や廉(れん)、今の矜や忿戻(ふんれい)。古の愚や直、今の愚や詐(さ)のみ。

【現代語訳】
孔子がおっしゃいました、
「昔の人々には三つの欠点があったが、今ではさらに悪くなってる様に思う。昔の理想家は自分の信念に従ってやりたいように行動したが、今はだた無秩序に行動する。昔の頑固者は清廉だったが、今はすぐ怒る癇癪持ちだ。昔の愚か者は素直だったが、今はただの嘘つきだ」

【English】
Confucius said, "In ancient times, people had three defects. Now, I guess that these got worse. Ancient idealists followed their belief. Now, they are just slack. Ancient bigots were honest. Now, they are quick to take offense. Ancient fools were obedient. Now, they are liars."

『論語』とは
読んで字の如く「論じ語る」、孔子と弟子達や要人達との間に交された対話録。
『論語』は私たちの生き方の原点を見つめた思索の宝庫であり、人間性を磨く叡智が凝縮した永遠の古典。
読めば読むほど胸に深く沁み込む簡潔な言葉の数々。
『孟子』『大学』『中庸』と併せて儒教における「四書」の一つに数えられる。
全20編（学而第一～堯曰第二十） 構成され、編の名称は各編の最初の二文字を採ったものであり内容上の意味はない。
したがって、学而第一から順に読む必要はなくどこから読んでもかまわない。
