列王記第一１０章

シバの女王は主の名のゆえにソロモンの名声を聞いた時、難しい質問をして彼を証明しようとしてやって来ました。
2 彼女は香辛料、金、宝石を積んだラクダと、非常に大きな列車を従えてエルサレムに来たが、ソロモンのもとに来て、自分の心にあることをすべて彼に話しました。
3 ソロモンは彼女のすべての質問に答えて告げました。
4 シバの女王はソロモンの知恵とソロモンの建てた家をすべて見ました。
5 また、その食卓の食物、その僕達の座、その大臣達の参列、その服装、その杯を持つ者、主の家に捧げる全焼のいけにえも、もう彼女の中に霊がありませんでした。
6 彼女は王に言いました。
「私が自分の国で聞いたあなたの行為とあなたの知恵の話は本当でした。
7 しかし、私は来て、私の目がそれを見るまで、その言葉を信じませんでしたが、見てください！その半分は私に告げられていませんでした。
8 あなたの部下は幸いです。あなたの前に絶えず立ち、あなたの知恵を聞くあなたの僕達は幸いです。
9 あなたの神、主はあなたを喜ばせて、イスラエルの王座につかせ、主はイスラエルを永遠えに愛されたので、あなたを王とし、正義と義を行わせたので、幸いです。」
10 彼女は王に百二十タラントの金と非常に多くの香辛料と宝石を与えましたが、シバの女王がソロモン王に与えたこれらの香辛料のように豊かなものは他にはありませんでした。
11 また、オフィルから金を運んできたヒラムの海軍は、オフィルから大量のサンダル材と宝石を運んできました。

13 ソロモン王はシバの女王に、ソロモンがその王家の賞金から彼女に与えたもののほかに彼女が求めたすべての望みを与えました。

14 さて、一年間にソロモンに来た金の重さは、金六百三十六タラントでした。

21 ソロモン王の酒器はすべて金で、また、レバノンの森の家の酒器はすべて純金で銀のものはなく、ソロモンの時代には何ら説明のつかないものでした。
22 王は海にタルシシュの水軍とヒラムの水軍を持ち、三年に一度、タルシシュの水軍が来て、金、銀、象牙、猿、孔雀を運んできました。
23 こうして、ソロモン王は富と知恵において、地のすべての王をしのぐことができました。
24 全地は神がその心に置かれたその知恵を聞くために、ソロモンの前を求めました。
25 彼らは各自、銀の器、金の器、衣服、鎧、香料、馬、騾馬、年ごとの割合で、自分の贈物を携えてきた。

29 戦車は銀六百シェケルで、馬は百五十でエジプトから運び出された。

1 ときに、シェバの女王が、主の名に関連してソロモンの名声を伝え聞き、難問をもって彼をためそうとして、やって来た。
2 彼女は、非常に大ぜいの有力者達を率い、らくだにバルサム油と、非常に多くの金および宝石を載せて、エルサレムにやって来た。彼女はソロモンのところに来ると、心にあったすべてのことを彼に質問した。

6 彼女は王に言った。「私が国であなたの事績とあなたの知恵とについて聞き及んでおりましたことはほんとうでした。

10 彼女は百二十タラントの金と、非常にたくさんのバルサム油と宝石とを王に贈った。シェバの女王がソロモン王に贈ったほどに多くのバルサム油は、二度と入って来なかった。
11 オフィルから金を積んで来たヒラムの船団も、非常に多くのびゃくだんの木材と宝石とをオフィルから運んで来た。
12 王はこのびゃくだんの木材で、主の宮と王宮の柱を造り、歌うたい達のために、立琴と十弦の琴を作った。今日まで、このようなびゃくだんの木材が入って来たこともなく、だれもこのようなものを見たこともなかった。
13 ソロモン王は、その豊かさに相応したものをシェバの女王に与えたが、それ以外にも、彼女が求めた物は何でもその望みのままに与えた。彼女は、家来達を連れて、自分の国へ戻って行った。
14 一年間にソロモンのところに入って来た金の重さは、金の目方で六百六十六タラントであった。
15 このほかに、交易商人から得たもの、貿易商人の商いで得たもの、アラビヤのすべての王達、およびその地の総督達からのものがあった。
16 ソロモン王は、延べ金で大盾二百を作り、その大盾一個に六百シュケルの金を使った。
17 また、延べ金で盾三百を作り、その盾一個に三ミナの金を使った。王はそれらを、レバノンの森の宮殿に置いた。
18 王は大きな象牙の王座を作り、これに純粋な金をかぶせた。
19 その王座には六つの段があり、王座の背には子牛の頭があり、座席の両側にひじかけがあり、そのひじかけのわきには二頭の雄獅子が立っていた。
20 また、十二頭の雄獅子が、六つの段の両側に立っていた。このような物は、どこの王国でも作られたためしがなかった。
21 ソロモン王が飲み物に用いる器はみな金であった。レバノンの森の宮殿にあった器物もすべて純金であって、銀の物はなかった。銀はソロモンの時代には、価値あるものとはみなされていなかった。
22 王は海に、ヒラムの船団のほか、タルシシュの船団を持っており、三年に一度、タルシシュの船団が金、銀、象牙、さる、くじゃくを運んで来たからである。
23 ソロモン王はあ、富と知恵とにおいて、地上のどの王よりもまさっていた。
24 全世界の者は、神が彼の心に授けられた知恵を聞こうとして、ソロモンに謁見を求めた。
25 彼らはおのおの贈り物として、銀の器、金の器、衣服、武器、バルサム油、馬、騾馬などを、毎年きまって携えて来た。
26 ソロモンは戦車と騎兵を集めたが、戦車一千四百台、騎兵一万二千人が彼のもとに集まった。そこで、彼はこれらを戦車の町々に配置し、また、エルサレムの王のもとにも置いた。
27 王は銀をエルサレムで石のように用い、杉の木を低地のいちじく桑の木のように大量に用いた。
28 ソロモンの所有していた馬は、エジプトとケベの輸出品であった。それは王の御用達が代価を払って、ケベから手に入れたものであった。
29 エジプトから買い上げられ、輸入された戦車は銀六百、馬は銀百五十であった。同様に、ヘテ人のすべての王も、アラムの王達も、彼らの仲買で輸入した。

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon because of the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices and gold very much, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was in her heart.
3 And Solomon told her all her questions; there was not any thing hid from the king which he told her not.
4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
5 and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his burnt-offering which he offered in the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her.
6 And she said to the king: 'It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom.
7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it; and, behold, the half was not told me; thou hast wisdom and prosperity exceeding the fame which I heard.
8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel; because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made He thee king, to do justice and righteousness.'
10 And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones; there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of sandal-wood and precious stones.
12 And the king made of the sandal-wood pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for the singers; there came no such sandal-wood, nor was seen, unto this day.
13 And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants. 
14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,
15 beside that which came of the merchants, and of the traffic of the traders, and of all the kings of the mingled people and of the governors of the country.
16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.
17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold: three pounds of gold went to one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.
19 There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were arms on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the arms.
20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps; there was not the like made in any kingdom.
21 And all king Solomon's drinking-vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram; once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
24 And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. 
26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore-trees that are in the Lowland, for abundance.
28 And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; also out of Keveh, the king's merchants buying them of the men of Keveh at a price.
29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Aram, did they bring them out by their means.
