Nagai plant park, Nature history museum of Osaka city

I woul like to inform Nagai plant park, Nature history museum of Osaka city at Nagai Park.


I ride subway from Osaka to Nagai.

Get off at Nagai station, walk east 10 minutes, arrive at Nagai plant park entrance.

Nagai plant park includes Nature history museum of Osaka city.
Entrance charge is ¥300.

This plant park has about 1200 kinds plants.

I enter and turn right at pond, then arrive at Nature history museum.

This museum has a huge model of dinosaur bone and Nauman elephant etc,
and has lots of animals and plants historical displays.



This museum is good at for the family with children.

Auditorium is also set in this museum.
It holds lectures for animals and plants.


Then I go to plant park.
I see lots of autumn leaves and the flower beds where pansies are planted.



From middle of November to early of December is a autumn leaves season.
Please enjoy autumn leaves.


Illumination starts from November 25.
Period November 25 to December 25.
Entrance charge is ¥500.

Nagai park and plant park is in Osaka city.
So lots of citizens are enjoying sports, nature.
When you go to south of Osaka city, please refresh this park and botanical garden.

Mooka steam locomotive train trip at Tochigi prefecture

I would like to inform Mooka SL(steam locomotive train) trip from Ibaraki to Tochigi prefecture.

I ride JR train from Tokyo to Shimodate.


I get off Shimodate station, ride Mooka Train.
Mooka train connects from Shimodate to Motegi.

This railway has three SL(steam locomotive trains), that are C11 SL, C12 SL, 9600 SL.

When you ride a SL, ¥500 additional pay are necessary.
SL tickets will be sold from one month before fron riding day.

Train normal pay from Shimodate to Motegi is ¥1030.
When you buy One day free path ticket,



SL will be moving at Saterday, holidays.
Shimodate starts 10:35, return from Motegi at 12:06.

I ride a SL from Shimodate to Mooka.

Get off at Mooka, I go to SL96 Museum.

This museum has SL train.


At every Saterday and Sunday, SLs are moving near this museum for 3 times.

You can see SL train in detail.


I ride train from Mooka to Motegi.

The train will proceed comfortably in autumn 's Susuki wilderness.


Train arrive at Motegi station.

Near this station, Honda's "Twin Ring Motegi" circuit site exists.

I walk around Motegi station.

I return to Shimodate, riding SL.
I enjoy SL trip.

Jo Niijima house, Kyoto City Historical Museum

I would like to inform Jo Niijima house, Kyoto City Historical Museum that are east of Kyoto Gosho.

I ride a bus from Kyoto station, get off at Kawaramachi-Marutamachi bus stop.
Walk Teramachi street north about 100m, I arrive at Jo Niijima house.

There are Jo Niijima house and Niijima Museum.
Both are no charge.

Jo Niijima house is limited for opening.
Publishing : Tuesday, Thurseday, Saterday 10:00-16:00, except public holiday.
Special Publishing : November 13, 29 and next year March 20-22

First I enter Niijima Museum.
Some people are entering this museum.

First floor has Jo Niijima and his wife Yae pictures and some goods.
These pictures shows that they strive establishing Doshisha university.

And Jo Niijima portrite and Doshisha Rugby game painting are on display.

Second floor has a big hole.

Before entering Jo Niijima house, please understand Jo Niijima history at Niijima Museum.

Jo Niijima house is wooden Western-style Two-story.

This house has a balcony outside of the wall.
This house got Kyoto City designated tangible cultural property in 1985.



First floor has kitchen, reception room, tea room, study room, bath room.






2nd floor is not opened.

This house is the early Meiji era house, but it's stylish house is modern.
Inside, reception room and study room are luxury, but a whole is a Spartan appearance.

Yae Niijima is tall woman, so the kitchen sink is high position.

There is a stone monument of Jo Niijima house at teramachi street side.



Next I walk Teramachi street north 20m, arrive at Kyoto City historical museum.

This museum is no charge.
First, I enter the first floor of the material exhibition room.
It exhibits to explain the history of Kyoto by pictures and documents.
In the back of the exhibition room you can watch a video.
The second floor has a library that keep a number of Kyoto history books.

Visited Jo Niijima house, please taste the enthusiasm for the education of Japanese Meiji Restoration.
