Island Sakushima of the art

I would like to inform a trip to take a walk through Sakushima which is famous in an island of the art this time.



To Sakushima, high speed is arrival by ship from port of one color of Nishio in 20 minutes.

I use rent-a-bicycle for walk.


At first I go to "the nap house".

Let's take a nap while looking at the sea.
I go to "the yeast house" next.

You walk the house of pure white right and left, and please look at the sea.
I face "secret base/Apollo of Sakushima" next.

The view of sea cut to a cinema scope is like the movie.
Finally I eat "beach Oyster chazuke" as lunch.

This menu can be eaten in Sakushima building, Yukoya, Ichibei.
Please appreciate an art work from Nagoya in near Sakushima.

Trip around Awajishima

I go round Awajishima of the early spring by car this time.

I enter Awajishima at Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.

I go over to Awajishima with Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and go approximately 2.4km KOBE-AWAJI-NARUTO EXPWY, then look at Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from Awajishima service area.

Here is the Observation place where Ferris wheel and Akashi Kaikyo Bridge are seen and is a popularity spot.



Awajishima service area has an up and down line comprises an observatory together, we can see the Gulf of Osaka from Akashi Channel.
The hall of service area wall are fitted with glass entirely and can do a meal and the shopping while looking at Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.

I go Izanagi shrine that has the power spot.



According to Kojiki and Nihon Shok, “Izanagi god command Amaterasu Oomikami the national governance of Japan, and the rest of life was spent in this ground, and then the place was Izanagi shrine.”
This shrine is enshrining Izanagi God.

I worship at a hall of worship.

In this sacred shrine, please get power.

The next, I go to Sumoto Castle.
Sumoto Castle is the castle where Miyoshi clan built a castle in 1526.

The castle tower was rebuilt with steel reinforced concrete in 1928.

From the observatory of the castle tower, I can overlook Sumoto Castle and Sumoto-shi.



A lot of then excellent stone walls stay in the Sumoto Castle.

In Awajishima, Sumoto Onsen is famous.
At Sumoto city, I stay at Sumoto Onsen, and enter the hot spring.

Speaking of Awajishima, please eat "Awajishima onion" "Awaji beef" .
Onions can be harvested in Awajishima through the year, and there are 3 kinds onions "premature delivery" , "straight" , "immature" .
In March, it is time of the premature delivery.
"Set menue : Fried onion and udon" is a famous menue. This onion is made by a whole one onion is fried.


Awaji beef is a Japanese brand beef of Awajishima.
This beef has a melting away taste.
Please taste "Awaji beef" with sukiyaki, or steak.


Next morning, I go to Whirlpool Obsevation Walkway "Uzu no Michi", through Oonaruto bridge from Awajishima,

"Uzu no Michi" is a boardwalk built under the bridge girder road of Oonaruto bridge.





There is a floor fitted with glass in this dome and can watch a whirling current of Naruto Channel from an altitude of approximately 45m and is a force perfect score.



Because the whirling current does not occur anytime, please confirm whirling current outbreak time beforehand on the homepage of the way of the whirlpool.

Please go round Awajishima slowly.

Himakajima island travel in Aichi prefecture

I would like to inform Himakajima island travel.
Himakajima island is located south of Chita peninsula.


I buy Himakajima trip ticket at Meitetsu Nagoya station.
This travel is 2days travel.

I ride Meitetsu train from Nagoya to Kowa.
High-speed ship pier is 5 minutes walking distance from Kowa station.


I ride High-speed ship. After 20minutes riding, I arrive at Himakajima Island.

Himakajima is famouse for Octopus and Blowfish.
Himakajima tourism office said Octopus means lots of happiness, Blowfish means blessings.
Big octopus welcomes me to arriving Himakajima.

Octopus police office exists at near West port.
This police office was built 4years ago.


I rent a Rental cycle, and ride it around this island.

I go to Himakajima museum, see this island history's.

When you have enough time, please try fishing.

At summer time, swimming at a beautiful seashore is best.

Next I go to Heidi's swing, that is sky swing.
Getting on a swing, you can see a big wonderful sea.


I return to hotel, eat octopus cuisine.
Shabu cooking, boiled octopus, and large clams are delicious.


Blowfish is also delicious.
Himakajima port takes lots of Blowfish.


Please enjoy octopus and blowfish cuisine at Himakajima.

Hiroshima Miyajima island trip

I would like to inform Miyajima island trip.

Miyajima island is located at southeast from Hiroshima city.



From JR Hiroshima station, 25minutes train riding to Miyajima-Guchi station.
Ride a ferry ship about 10minutes, I arrive at Miyajima island.



Itsukushima shrine is built at 593.
Kiyomori-Taira samurai rebuilt this shrine.
This shrine is a World heritage.
Miyajima island is a god island, and deers are god's animal.





I recommend to enter this shrine at High tide.
You can see this shrine is floating over the see, it is mysterious.
From shrine's dancing floor, that is jutting into the sea, a wonderful view is seen.



Next, I ride a Ropeway to the top of the Mt.Misen.
Ropeway roundtrip charge is 1800yen.

From top of Mt.Misen, a wide view of Seto sea.



Next is Miyajima historical race museum.
This museum has Miyajima historical goods and Kiyomori-Taira goods, and island people life goods.
Japanese garden is also beautiful.



Next is five-storied pagoda.
This pagoda is built at 1407.
27.6m height.
Only outside viewing is available.

Next I visit Omotesando shopping Malle.
Miyajima famous Food specialties are Maple baked bun and Oysters.
Baked oyster is delicious, and 3 baked oysters are only 500yen.


Final visit is Miyajima Traditional Industry Hall.
No charge.

At 2 floor, you can hand experience of maple baked bun.
This experience charge is 756yen.


I stay about 6 hours.
Miyajima autumn leaves will be beautiful at November.

Niigata Sadogashima Trip

Niigata Sadogashima Trip

I would like to inform Sadogashima island Trip.
I go to Sadogashima by Jetfoil ship 65minutes from Niigata port.

Sadogashima is 2nd largest island in Japan.
So, going around this island by bicycle is difficult.
I go around this island by bus.
First visit is Toki-no-Mori-park: this park is in the center of this island.
At the entrance, Toki : ibis mascot is greeting me.
Toki :Japanese ibis become extinct.
This park ibis is from China.

Toki museum shows Toki's history, feature.
You can see that Toki is raising a child at Toki plaza.
Toki like a loach, and frog.



I return to Ryozu port.
There is a big Lake Kamo.
The landscape of Lake Kamo and Mountains is very beautiful.

Lunch is Kaisen Zushi.
I ride a Sightseeing bus: Hakuundai-Kinzan-Senkaku Harbour-Couple rock, at Ryozu port.
30minutes riding, bus arrive at Hakuundai, this hill is near the top of mountain, you can see a wide view of Sadogashima.

After 30minutes riding, Next is Sado Kinzan.
Sado Kinzan is digged from 1601 to 1989.
Many golds and silvers are digged.
There are Sodayu tunnel, and Doyu tunnel.
I select Sodayu tunnel.

Tunnel road is fixed by cement, slope is not steep.
In the tunnel many worker's doll are showing digging Method.
Doll is moving and speaking for explaining digging works.

I see this tunnel for 30minutes.
Over the tunnel exit, Kijzan museum is existing.
Museum shows how to make a gold money: Koban, Oban.
At golden age, there are 50thousands people living in Sadogashima.


About 45minutes riding, I arrive at Senkaku Harbour.
Glass boat pleasure is optional tour.
I ride this boat, and see a Harbour.
Lots of rocks are showing different shape.
Bottom of this boat is glass, we can see a bottom see and fishes.
This Senkaku harbour has Observatory, and small marine museum.
A wide view of Senkaku Harbour is beautiful.

Next is Couple Rock: that is husband and wife rock.
We can walk near this rock.
Near this rock, Seafood shop is existing.
Sazae, Awabi are good taste.

This is the end of Sightseeing bus.
This bus return to Ryozu port at 18:30.
I go to Niigata by Car ferry for 2.5 hours.
Car ferry is a big ship, I go to deck, and drink Nihonshu.
'Wakusui' is a famous Sadogashima Sake.
I enjoy a relax time at deck.
I arrive at Niigata port at 22:00.
I stay hotel at Niigata.


Sadogashima has many sighseeing points, please enjoy Sadogashima trip.
