I would like to inform persimmon picking.

I ride Hankyu train at Osaka Umeda, get off at Katsura station.

From the west exit at Katsura Station,ride Kyoto city bus "west 8" "west 1" "west 5" , getting off at Shin Rin center front. After 10-minute walk, arrive at Senya farm.

Entering a kindergarten charges are adult 880 yen (tax-included), child 660 yen (tax-included), infant 440 yen (tax-included).

A season of the persimmon picking begins on October 20 for about one and a half months until the beginning of December.

Orange Japanese persimmon bathes in autumn sunlight at the Senya farm and overlaps and attaches a fruit.

It is the arrival of the season of the representative specialty "Fuyu persimmon" of Oeda.

The fruit is big, and a sugar content is high.

Please appreciate a sweet persimmon.

Maple Festival of Kyoto Sanzen-in temple

I would like to inform maple festival of Kyoto Sanzen-in Temple.

I get off Kyoto Station on a subway in an international hall and, on Kyoto Bus, get off at Ohara bus stop.
It is arrival in Sanzen-in Temple in a 10-minute walk.

I pay admission 700 yen and enter Sanzen-in Temple.

On October 28 and November 28 that are the first day and the last day of "the maple festival", golden King Akira Fudo of the treasured Buddhist statue is unveiled in golden Fudodou. As for the in full bloom of colored leaves of Sanzen-in Temple, it is about time when it for from the middle of November to the end.

I go to Metasequoia row, that is prefectural road 287 of Takashima-shi of North Shiga.
I stop a car in the free "Makino pick land" parking lot (150) close to the row of trees.
I go to Metasequoia row on foot.

The begining Metasequoia row is Makino-cho fruit tree production association planted Metasequoia in 1981.

It becomes the current excellent figure which 500 of them were put on by extension 2.4km now.
This row of trees is chosen as "100 new Japan roadside tree views".

Metasequoia which going to sky and the straight road give us a power and courage.
It is recommended to sitting the roadside, and eating a lunch and gaze at Metasequoia.

A yellow leaf falls when I look at a metasequoia on foot leisurely.
When it is November, autumn colors advance, and the dead leaves increase.


Best season of Metasequoia autumn leaves is from early November to middle December.
At middle November, lots of Metasequoia autumn leaves are seen.
You keep 1 hour for this Metasequoia row.

Then, I go to "Makino agriculture park Makino pick Landes" of the sightseeing orchard in the south side of Metasequoia row.

Here, there are sale of the fruit, cherry hunting, blueberry hunting, grape gathering, gathering chestnuts, dig potato, apple hunting, and there are a restaurant, the direct marketing sale place, too.
I purchase fruit.

Next I go to "Takashima-shi ShinAsahi waterfowl observation center" at the coast of Lake Biwa.

I can look at Lake Biwa from the window of the center.
In the waterfowl observation room, I can observe many waterfowls with a telescope in detail.
I can watch a little grebe, a coot, a whistling swan, a green-winged teal.
I enter the cafe in the center and spend elegant time to observe a waterfowl while drinking coffee.


Next I go to Yatsubuchi waterfall.
Eight deep waters range, and this waterfall is chosen as "100 selections of Japanese waterfalls".

There are eight deep waters, but a rocky place collapses, and the slipping down fatal accident occurs, too. I go to watch "only the safe deep water of the large earthenware mortar".
I leave a car in the parking lot of the Gulliver young people trip village, and there is the signboard of the waterfall in the place that had a mountain trail 500m. It is arrival to a large earthenware mortar when I climb it approximately 1km from here.

The large earthenware mortar (earthenware mortar) is size approximately 60 tsubos, and the waterfall drifts as if slipping over a sloping rock.

Next I go to Virgin forest of the beech, that is located the boundary of Kyoto and Fukui.

Dream Suspension Bridge and the Maple festival of Sumata Canyon of autumn leaves

I would like to inform a journey to enjoy the suspension bridge, the Maple festival, autumn leaves, hot springs at Sumata Canyon in Shizuoka prefecture.


The autumn leaves of the Sumata Canyon is the best time to see from 10/end to 11/medium.
First take the Oigawa Railway from JR Tokaido Line Kanaya station.
Oigawa Tetsudo is a railroad that runs SL.
SL is one round trip a day, but if you are lucky you can see the SL.

Get off at Senzu station.

Take the Oigawa Train Bus going Sumata Canyon Hotspring, after 40 minutes riding, arrive at Sumata Canyon Hotspring bus stop.
This canyon has 16 km length in the Sumata River upstream of the Oigawa River.
I go to the Dream suspension bridge from Sumata Canyon Hotspring, on the Sumata Canyon Promenade course.
After Tenshi tunnel, look down on the right side, you can see the Dream suspension bridge far away.



The leaves of the canyon and the cobalt blue of the lake are colorful.
The cobalt blue of the lake is due to the wavelength of light, and it becomes blue as beautiful as a fine day.
From here I go down steep stairs to the lower bound lake.


I arrived at Dream suspension bridge in about 40 minutes from the start of the Sumata Canyon Promenade course.

Dream suspension bridge is a suspension bridge with a length of 90 meters and a height of 8 meters on Ooma dam lake.
In the dream suspension bridge, you can see the beautiful cobalt blue lake surface clearly visible, enjoy superb views and thrills.
The number of people who can cross at a time is limited to 10 people, and the excursion season etc. may be a one-way street.

This suspension bridge is a simple making just by arranging two boards and it shakes well.
You can see the lake from the feet and the swing will increase as you go to the middle of the bridge.
The middle of this bridge is a power spot that can be fulfilled if you make a wish about love.
The place where the board is made into three is the place of the place of wishes.

After crossing the bridge, we will head to “Ozaki Saka Observation Deck”.
It will rise by the stairs of a narrow aisle. Because the stairs are steep and long, the people who are not confident in physical strength stop going to the Ozaki Saka Observation Deck and return the bridge.
After you climb this steps you will find Ozaki Saka Observation Deck ahead.

From the observation deck you can see the dimensions of the valley.

Next, I head for Hiryu Bridge.

Hiryu Bridge is an arch-shaped iron bridge with a height of 100 meters across the Sumata Canyon. In the past, a forest railroad tram was going through this bridge.

The view of the valley from the bridge, the dream suspension bridge is wonderful.


It will be back to Sumata canyon hot spring in about two hours from the start of the Sumata Canyon Promenade course.

Returning to Sumata canyon hot spring, the hot spring famous as "Beauty-making Hot water" is characterized by "Toned Hot water" to make the skin smooth.
It seems to have efficacy for skin diseases, joints, neuralgia, etc.

For day trips, there is a town operated outdoor bath.



Sumata canyon hot spring has the Maple Festival that will be held on Saturday night of October 27 (19: 30-21: 00).
At this festival, Tengu and Yamabushi walk through the hot spring town,

and entertainers make a rhythmic sound using "Akashi Taiko",

Hand-made fireworks will be showed.


Visiting the fallen Sumata Canyon, enjoy the Dream suspension bridge, the Maple festival, autumn leaves, hot spring.

Rurikouin temple and Rengeji temple、Autumn leaves trip

I would like to inform Rurikouin temple and Rengeji temple、Autumn leaves trip.
I ride the Keihan train to Demachi Yanagi station, and ride the Eizan train to Yase-Hieizanguchi station.


I get off this station, walk cross Takano river, go south 10 minutes.
I arrive at Rurikouin temple.

Rurikouin temple opens November 1 - 30.
Entrance charge is 2000yen, it's expensive.

Rurikouin temple open at spring and autumn limited periods.

I enter Sanmon gate, many kinds of maples and mosses are existing.
3 types Japanese garden are seen.
Ruri-Garden is most famous.



I see many maple autumn-leaves from Tatami-room.

Next I go to Rengeji temple.
About 15minutes walking, I arrive at Rengeji temple.


I enter Sanmon gate, walk along stone pavement, many maple autumn leaves are seen.
Entrance charge is 400yen.

Rengeji temple was built from Heian period.

Main temple has a big Tatami room.
I sit down Tatami room, and see a Japanese garden.

This garden has a pond, temple house.


Red autumn leaves have the deep red color.
I think Rengeji temple's maple autumn leaves are most beautiful in Kyoto.

From Tatami room, I can enter Japanese garden with Sandals.

This autumn leaves are available to see till end of November.

Please visit Rurikouin temple and Rengeji temple.
