I would like to introduce Tsubakiji temple of Kyoto in Kyoto.

Transfer from JR Kyoto Station to the San-in Main Line and get off at Uzumasa Station.
Take the 3 minute walk to the southeast and get off at Randen train "Satsueisho-mae Station", get off at Kitano Hakubaicho Station and walk 3 minutes to the “Jizoin Tsubakiji” temple It is arrival.

Temple of the Jizoin Temple is a temple of Jodo sect which was founded in 726, the official name is "Koyo Mountain Temple".

In this Tsubakiji temple, in addition to ordinary camellia,
the rear camellia that Toyotomi Hideyoshi gave this temple.

Although ordinary camellia falls with each flower, but this rear camellia scatters petals apart.
Because of this, it is called Goshiki Yae Chiri Tsubaki
and it became a famous tree of this temple.
The first tree withered, now the second generation of about a hundred years old is growing big.

Flowering situation of camellia at this temple
Middle of January - late: best time to see the white camellia
Middle February - Late February : Red camellia best time to see
Late February - late March: best time to see the Goshiki Yae Chiri camellia

You will see Red camellia in February.
Goshiki Yae Chiri Camellia can be seen flowers from late February to mid-March, but you can appreciate it fade away until late March.
The beautiful Goshiki Yae Chiri camellia can only be seen at this temple, so please have a look.

After worshiping, I recommend to go to see plum garden at Kitano Tenman-gu in about 10 minutes on foot northeast.

Please visit together.

That’s it.
