I would like to inform plant community of rabbit-ear iris at Otasawa.
I ride a city bus 4 system, get off at front of Kamigamo Shrine from Kyoto Station,
and go east 10-minute walk, arrive at Otasawa shrine.
At Ota Shrine’s approach to a shrine, there are about 25,000 rabbit-ear irises grow on about 2,000 square meters of sites.
This Rabbit-ear iris is called "Rabbit-ear irises plant community at Otasawa" and also the natural monument of the country.
Rabbit-ear iris invites in full bloom from early May through mid-May in an average year, but the flowering in this year is early, and 5/8 becomes here in in full bloom for Golden Week.
The beauty of the rabbit-ear iris was read by a Tanka poetry song of Toshinari Fujiwara at the Heian era.
Please appreciate a rabbit-ear iris.
That's it.
