2013年に中国・北京で開催された「グローバルヘルスサミット」では、政府、民間企業、国際機関などから112名のキーパーソンが集まり、グローバルヘルスの次の100年がどうあるべきかを議論しました。そのサミットでは、ロックフェラー財団の資金提供を受けて、『次の100年のための健康の未来を夢見て』と題した白書を発表しました。
その報告書の中で、参加者が比較的確信していることを詳細に述べた部分には、孤立やバーチャルな生活の増加など、Covidを受けて起こったことと多くの共通点がある生活の記述があります。
人々をデジタル的に追跡し、結びつける膨大なデータは、『プライバシーの死』を意味し、物理（身体）的な相互作用（交流）を一時的な仮想的なつながりに置き換え、孤立を生み、仮想ネットワークの中で価値がどのように形成されるかという問題を提起するかもしれない・・・認知心理学からの洞察と新しいオンラインツール（チャンキング、クラウドソーシング、チャットルーム、大規模オープンオンラインコース）の融合により、教育は大きな変化を遂げるだろう。それは、正式な教室の外で、「多対多」の形でピア・ツー・ピア・ラーニングの学習空間を作り出すことである」（p.8）。
報告はその後、「2050年の目覚め」と題したセクションて、未来に起こりうる4つの異なるシナリオを仮定しています。
シナリオ1の「健康資源の争奪」では、2050年1月の生活がどのようなものになっているか、ディストピア的に描かれています：・・・
「多くの人が、セクションXの感染症が自分の住む地域に広がる可能性を心配している。民間の健康管理制度では、どんな病気も検出できる故障のない監視システムでパッケージがカバーされているという安心感を与えるメッセージを送り、年に一度のセンサーチェックを確実に受けるように促している」（p.13）。
シナリオ2：「我々が実現させれば健康になる」では、2050年1月までに北京に国際標準化機構を設立し、国際的な共通通貨を導入する可能性が述べられています。
「我々は、北京の国際標準化機構から、環境、福祉、地産地消、リサイクルに関して都市が到達すべき最新の基準について、ビデオ会議で説明を受けた。我々は、国家機関がこの基準を実施していないことに懸念を示した。コミュニティ食品生産者協会は、国家と市民の執行への投資に関する2047年の評価結果が、なぜ行動に移されないのかと質問した。GSAの代表は、それは地方の問題だと言ったが、CFPAのグレッグは、国際共通通貨（CIC）が採用された後、地方政府の資金が崩壊したと提起した」（P.14）と述べています。

国民国家の権力との関連では、メガシティ、ローカル・アイデンティティ・ポリティクス、グローバル・ネットワークの台頭により、国家の権力はさらに低下する可能性があると論じています：
