Oharame Festival at Ohara village in Kyoto

I would like to inform Oharame Festival at Ohara village.




I ride Kyoto bus to Ohara about 1 hour.

Oharame Festival is held at Spring and Autumn.

Oharame Festival shows young girl, wearing Oharame clothing, parade at Ohara village.
Travelors enjoy to see Kamakura, Muromachi, Edo, Meiji, Taisho, Showa period clothingel.

When you reserve a wearing Oharame clothing, wear a Oharame clothing only 1000yen for festival day.Normal pay is 2500yen.

Oharame put firewood on the head, and sold firewood at Kyoto downtown from Kamakura period to Showa period.

Oharame parade start at 13:00 Octover 31.
Many young girls parade route : Shorinin temple - Sanzenin temple - Ohara bus stop - Ohara village - Jyakkoin temple.
Final stop is Jyakkoin temple at 14:30.





I recommend to see Shorinin temple and Sanzenin temple in the morning, and see Jyakkoin temple after parade.

Shorinin temple
This temple has beatiful moss garden.

Sanzenin temple
This temple has many autumn leaves.

Jyakkoin temple
This temple is famous in connection with Heike story.
