Yamabuki flowers festival at Matsuo shrine in Kyoto

I would like to inform Yamabuki flowers festival at Matsuo shrine in Kyoto.


Matsuo shrine exists at south of Arashiyama.

I ride Hankyu train from Umeda to Matsuo shrine.
Big Toriigate exists in front of Matsuo shrine station.


Matsuo shrine is famous for Yamabuki blossom.
This shrine has 3000 Yamabuki trees.
Yamabuki blossoms are in full bloom from middle to end of April.

I enter from Toriigata, arrive at Rogate.

Between Rogate and Hall of worship, small river is seen.

Yamabuki blossoms are lined along this river.
This shrine's flowers are orange single flower,orange double flower, and white single flower.
Orange double flowers are 70%.







I wash my hands at Chōzuya.
This Chōzuya's water from turtle mouth,


I pray at main shrine.

This shrine is also famous for Sake shrine.
Lots of Sake barrel are set left side of main shrine.

I go to Kamenoi from under right Corridor of Main shrine.
Fresh water is flowing from Kamenoi.

Over the Kamenoi, waterfall is seen.


I return to small river, enter Showfuen garden.
Entrance charge is 500yen.
This garden has 3 gardens.
I go to Kyokusui garden.
This is water and stones garden.

Next is Jyokono garden.
This garden has white Yamabuki blossoms.


Over Jyokono garden, Hydrangea garden.
This garden has white and orange Yamabuki trees.

Next I go to Horai garden.
This garden is designed as Crane spreading its wings.


Finally I go to Sake museum.
No charge.


This museum has how to produce Sake and Matsuo shrine's festival.

Around Matsuo shrine, there are Arashiyama, Koke temple, Cricket temple.

Please visit Matsuo shrine.
