日本人が誤解している英単語： シングルとは「独身、未婚」ではなくて、「未婚＋パートナー（彼氏彼女）がいない状態」のこと。彼氏彼女がいたらシングルとは言いませんです。>RT
言葉が輸入されるときに、複数の意味がそのまま輸入されるわけではない、となにかで読んだことがある。
卑俗な例だが、例えば ”s○ｘ”ーーーてか、s○ｘをを不正な書式に認定するなっちゅうにーーー は性別、性交渉 などの意味があるが、日本では性交渉の意味だけ、逆に ”ぶっかけ”は 汁をかけただけの食べ物 から、体に精液を発射するなどの意味につかわれるが、bukkake は顔に精液を発射する意味のようである。
single イコール シングル
ではない、といことで、"シングル”は独身の謂いだが、"single" 独身ないし、彼、彼女がいない、の謂い、ということだろう。

昔から、カミングアウトしてたよ、でも、プライバシーを詮索しないで、ということか？
性的嗜好というのはプライベートなことであるから、別にカミングアウトする必要もない、と思うのだが、他方、ゲイの人たちについて、仮に、なにかのきっかけで、ゲイであるとわかっても、世間から、奇異な目で見られず、「あ、そう」程度の反応になるような社会に成熟したい、というのが私の意見である。

有名人がロールモデルであるべきか否かは別にして、

というように、社会に影響力のあるのは確かである。
日本でもレズビアンの有名人がさりげなくカミングアウトしてさり気なくうけいれられれば、それで悩んでいる一般の若い人に、希望を与えるのではないか。
ここらへん、マスコミも問題意識をもつべきだ。
こういったのが、日本人がやると、日本文化論にされるのだが・・・・

Germany mulls ways to help France in Mali

Germany said on Monday it was considering ways to help France in its mission in Mali such as providing logistical, medical or humanitarian aid.
Westerwelle and Defence Minister Thomas de Maizière will now "quickly" consider "how Germany can offer concrete support, other than military action," he said.
Discussions will now take place with Chancellor Angela Merkel and Paris to see how Germany can best come to France's assistance, he added.
However the sending of combat troops "is not up for debate," the spokesman stressed, repeating Berlin's firm position on that issue.
France's mission in Mali is "correct in the view of the federal government," he added. "It is a difficult but also important mission that we support
軍事行使以外の支持、というなにか日本と似た立場であるが、他国の軍事行使を支持するのと、自国が軍事行使するのは、ほとんど紙一重。
敵からすれば、あまり意味のない区別かもしれない。
