知恵と行動力があればどんな時代でもビジネスを楽しめる

先週仕事で少し沖縄に行ってきました。

その時に地元の人に沖縄ソバ屋に連れて行ってもらったのですが

昔であれば

間違いなく潰れる

そんな場所にありました。

住宅地で目立たない上に道は狭く

しかも建物は私の年齢より上かと思われる位に古い

そんなお店でした。

まぁしかし時代が変わりましたからね

そんな場所と建物だから

昔の沖縄の雰囲気が残っていて観光客に大人気です。

私たちが行った時も客が溢れていて

店員さんは中に入ると

いらっしゃいでも無く

睨みつけるように

”予約はしてありますか？”

って聞いて来ました。

幸い友人が予約してありましたので入れましたが

そうで無ければ追い返される

そんな感じでした。

時代が変わったと言いましたが

どうしてこんな店が好まれるようになったんでしょうかね？

まぁ多分観光客のレベルが多様化したんでしょうね。

観光客向けには洒落た綺麗な店はたくさんありますが

それに飽きた人たちが

穴場的な物を求める

そしてそんな心理を巧みに利用してる

これがそのお店が繁盛してる理由かも知れません。

このお店

昔であれば潰れると言いましたが

どうしてそうだったのか？

って言えば

私たちの時代は国民全体が貧困からの脱却

これを目指した訳ですから

誰もそんな古い建物の店にお金を出してそばを食べに行きたい

なんて思わなかったのです。

ところが

豊かさを思い切り経験して

美味しい食べ物も綺麗な建物も

少し飽きてきて

逆に地元の雰囲気を味わえる古い物

これを求めるようになったんだと思います。

この流れは全てに浸透してきて

お店だけでなく住宅もそんな感じですよね。

今の人は私たちの時代のように

豪邸願望はあまり見られません。

昔はテレビでも良く豪邸訪問みたいな番組がありましたが

最近はあまり見なくなりましたよね。

住宅の質が上がり普通の人である程度の暮らしが出来ますから

それほど豪邸を羨む気持ちも無いのです。

そうやって考えると

今の時代のビジネスは本当に難しいですよね

私は家電量販店に行くと

よくやって行けるな？

って感心しますよね。

自分自身は冷蔵庫もテレビもエアコンも

もしかしたら死ぬまで買い替える事は無いかも知れない

ふとそう思う事がありますからね。

まぁしかしこんな時代でも

皆さんお金は必要ですから

頑張って稼ぐかありませんが

大きな会社であっても

生き残るには大変だろうな？

って何となく感じています。

その意味では

零細企業の方が有利

そう思う事も良くありますね

小さいと言うことは

柔軟性と迅速性が武器になりますからね。

私は社員にはいつもそれを語っています。

不動産の仕事で行き詰れば

ボロ屋でソバ屋を開店

良いかも知れませんね。

いずれにしても

どんな時代になっても

私自身は生き残る自信はあります。

小さい事は生存には有利に働く

私自身はそう思っています。

最近M&Aの会社の営業マンから

大きな会社が御社との資本提携を希望してます

なんて電話がかってきましたが。

私は大きな会社には全く興味がありません

そう言って断りましたが

これは本音です。

会社だけでなく

私は自宅も大きすぎて居心地悪い

そう感じています。

日本の人口が減りますから

経済が縮小するかも知れませんが

これからはそれを楽しむ

そんな気持ちが大切だと思いますね。

知恵を使えば

どんな時代でも楽しい

私はそう思っています。

Last week I went to Okinawa for work.

A local friend took me to an Okinawa soba restaurant, 

I was little surprised because that restaurant is too old 

And in a place that would have gone out of business in the past.

It was in a residential area, inconspicuous, narrow streets, and the building was so old that it looked like it was older than me.

But times have changed, 

because of the location and building, the atmosphere of old Okinawa remains 

and it is very popular with tourists.

When we went, the restaurant was overflowing with customers, 

and when we went in, the staff asked, 

"Do you have a reservation?" without even greeting

Luckily, my friend had made a reservation, 

so we were able to enter, 

but if you didn't, we would have been turned away.

I said that times have changed, 

but why has this kind of restaurant become so popular?

Well, I guess the level of tourists has diversified.

There are many stylish and beautiful restaurants for tourists, 

but people who are tired of them are looking for something hidden away,

and they are taking advantage of that psychology, 

which may be why the restaurant is so popular.

I said that this restaurant would have gone out of business in the past,

 but why would that have been the case?

When we were young, 

the entire nation was striving to escape poverty, 

so no one wanted to spend money to eat soba at a restaurant in such an old building.

However, after experiencing affluence to the fullest,

people got tired of delicious food and beautiful buildings,

and instead began to seek out old things that give a taste of the local atmosphere.

This trend has permeated everything, 

and it's not just restaurants, but homes as well.

People today don't have as much of a desire for a mansion as they did in the past.

Ifew years ago

there were a lot of programs on TV that visited mansions, 

but I don't see them as often these days.

The quality of housing has improved, so ordinary people can live a decent life, so there's no envy for mansions.

When you think about it like that, business is really difficult in this day and age.

When I go to a home appliance store, 

I'm impressed that they can survive.

I sometimes think that I may never replace my refrigerator, TV, or air conditioner until I die.

But even in these times, everyone needs money, we have to work hard to earn it, 

but I somehow feel that even in a big company, 

it's going to be hard to survive. 

In that sense, 

I often think that small businesses have an advantage. 

Being small means flexibility and speed are your weapons.

I always tell my employees that. 

If I get stuck in the real estate business, 

maybe it's a good idea to open a soba restaurant in a rundown building. 

Either way, I'm confident that I can survive in any era.

I personally believe that being small is an advantage for survival.

Recently, I got a call from a salesman at an M&A company saying that a big company wants to form a capital alliance with my company.

I turned him down by saying that I have no interest in big companies, 

that's the truth. 

Not only my company, but my home is also too big and uncomfortable. 

Japan's population is decreasing, so the economy may shrink, 

but I think it's important to enjoy it from now on. 

I believe that if you use wisdom, you can have fun at any time.
