創世記１章

初めに、神は天と地を創造しました。 
さて、地は形のない空虚なものであり、暗黒が深淵の表面を覆っていました。
そして、神の霊が水の表面を動いていました。｛覆っていました｝
神が「光あれ！」と言われたので、光がありました。
光が良いものであるのを見て、神は光を闇から分けました。
神は光を "昼 "と呼び、闇を "夜 "と呼びました。
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－最初の日です。

神は言いました。
「水と水とを分けるために、水の間に広がりがあるように！」
？そこで神は空間を作り、その下の水と上の水とを分けました。｛広間｝？
そして、そのとおりになりました。
神はその広がりを「空」と呼びました。
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－第二の日です。
 
神は言いました。
「天の下の水を一つの所に集めて、乾いた地を現すように！」
そして、そのとおりになりました。 
神は乾いた地を「地」と呼び，水の集まりを「海」と呼びました。
？そして、神はそれが良いものであることをご覧になりました。？
神は言いました。
「地は植物、すなわち、種のある植物と果樹とを生じさせ、それぞれがその種類に応じて種をもって実を結ぶように！」
そして、そのとおりになりました。
地は草木を生み、種類に応じて種を持つ植物と、種類に応じて種を持ち実を結ぶ木を生じました。｛生みました｝
神はそれが良いことをご覧になりました。
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－第三の日です。

神は言いました。
「昼と夜とを区別し、季節と日と年とを示すために、天の大空に光があるように！そして、それらを天の大空の光として、地を照らすようにしよう。」
そして、そのとおりになりました。
神は二つの大きな光を創造しました。
大きな光は昼を支配し、小さな光は夜を支配します。
また、星も創造しました。 
神は地を照らすために、天の大空にこれらの光を設置しました。 
昼と夜とを支配し、光と闇とを分けるためです。
そして、神はそれが良いことだとご覧になりました。
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－第四の日です。

そして、神は言いました。
「水には生き物があふれ、鳥は空の広いところで地の上を飛ぶように！」
そこで、神は、大海の生き物と動くすべての生き物とを創造し、それらは種類に応じて水域を満たし、またすべての飛ぶ鳥を種類に応じて創造しました。
そして、神はそれが良いものであることをご覧になりました。
そして、神は彼らを祝福して言いました。
「生めよ！増やせよ！海の水を満たせ！また鳥が地に増えよ！」
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－第五の日です。

そして、神は言いました。
「地は生き物をその種類に応じて生み出すように！
すなわち、家畜、陸生動物、野生動物をその種類に応じて生み出すように！」
そして、そのとおりになりました。
神は地の獣をその種類に応じて、家畜をその種類に応じて、地を這うすべてのものをその種類に応じて創造しました。
？そして、神はそれが良いものであることをご覧になりました。？
そして、神は言いました。
「わたしたちは海の魚と空の鳥と家畜と、地とその上を這うすべての生き物とを支配するために，わたしたちにかたどって、わたしたちに似せて人を造ろう！」
だから、神は人を神のかたちに創造し、男と女とを創造しました。
神は彼らを祝福して言いました。
「実り多く、増え、地に満ち、地を従わせ、海の魚、空の鳥、地を這うすべての生き物を支配しなさい！」
その後、神は言いました。
？「見よ！わたしは全地の表にあるすべての種を持つ植物と、実が種を含むすべての木をあなたに与えました。｛顔｝？
それらはあなたの食物となります。 
また、地のすべての獣、空のすべての鳥、地を這うすべての生き物、すなわち、命の息吹を持つすべてのものに、食物としてあらゆる緑の植物を与えました。」
そして、そのとおりになりました。
神はお造りになったすべてのものをご覧になりましたが、実に良いものでした。
そして、夕べがあり、朝がありました。－第六の日です。

 

はじめに神は天と地を創造された。
2 さて、地は形なく、空虚であり、闇が深淵のおもてにあった。神の霊が水のおもてを漂っていた。
3 そして神は言われた、「光あれ」。すると光があった。
4 神は光を見て、それが良いものであることを知り、神は光と闇とを分けられた。
5 そして神は光を昼と呼び、闇を夜と呼ばれた。そして夕べがあり、朝があり、一日があった。
6 神は言われた、「水の中に大空があり、水と水とを分けるように」。
7 神は大空を造って、大空の下にある水と、大空の上にある水とを分けられた。
8 そして神は大空を天と呼ばれた。夕べがあり、朝があり、第二の日があった。
9 神は言われた、「天の下の水を一カ所に集め、乾いた地を現われさせよ」。そしてそのとおりになった。
10 神は乾いた地を地と呼び、水の集まった所を海と呼ばれた。神はそれが良いものであることを見られた。
11 そして神は言われた、「地は草を生やし、草は種を生み、果樹はその種がある種類にしたがって実を結び、地の上に生えるようにしなさい」。そしてそのとおりになった。
12 地は草を生やし、種類にしたがって種を生む草と、種類にしたがってその種のある実を結ぶ木とを生んだので、神はそれがよいことを見られた。
13 そして夕べがあり、朝があり、三日目があった。
14 神は言われた、「天の大空に光があって、昼と夜とを分け、しるしとし、季節とし、日や年とするように」。
15 また天のおおぞらにあって、地の上に光を与える光とせよ』」。そしてそのとおりになった。
16 神は二つの大きな光を造られた。大きな光は昼を支配し、小さな光は夜を支配するものであり、また星も造られた。
17 そして神はこれらを天の大空に置いて、地の上に光を与えるようにされた。
18 そして昼と夜とを支配し、光と闇とを分けるために、神はそれがよいことを見られた。
19 夕べがあり、朝があり、第四の日があった。
20 そして神は言われた、「水は生き物の群れであふれ、鳥は天の広い大空で地の上を飛ぶようにしなさい」。
21 神は大海獣と、水に群がるすべての這う生き物とを、その種類にしたがって創造し、また翼のあるすべての鳥を、その種類にしたがって創造されたので、神はそれがよいことを見られた。
22 神は彼らを祝福して言われた、「生めよ、増やせよ、海の水を満たし、地に鳥を増やせ」。
23 そして夕べがあり、朝があった、五日目である。
24 そして神は言われた、『地はその種類にしたがって生き物を、家畜を、這うものを、地の獣を、その種類にしたがって生めよ』」。そしてそのとおりになった。
25 神は地の獣をその種類にしたがって造り、家畜をその種類にしたがって造り、地を這うすべてのものをその種類にしたがって造られたので、神はそれがよいことを見られた。
26 そして神は言われた、『われわれに似せて人を造り、彼らに海の魚、空の鳥、家畜、全地、および地に這うすべての這うものを支配させよう』」。
27 神はご自分のかたちに人を創造された。神のかたちに彼を創造し、男と女とに彼らを創造された。
28 そして神は彼らを祝福し、神は彼らに言われた。実を結び、ふやし、地に満ち、これを従わせ、海の魚、空の鳥、地を這うすべての生き物を支配しなさい』」。
29 そして神は言われた、『見よ、わたしは全地の面にある種を生むすべての草と、種を生む木の実のあるすべての木とを、あなたがたに与え、それを食物とすることにした。
30 また、地のすべての獣、空のすべての鳥、地の上を這うすべてのもので、生きている魂のあるものには、すべての青草を食物とするために与えた』」。そして，そのとおりになった。
31 神はご自分の造られたすべてのものをご覧になったが、見よ、それは非常に良いものであった。そして夕べがあり，朝があった，六日目である。

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.
3 And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. 
6 And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.'
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day. 
9 And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas; and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day. 
14 And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so.
16 And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. 
20 And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.'
21 And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that creepeth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.'
23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 
24 And God said: 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind.' And it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
28 And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
29 And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed--to you it shall be for food;
30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, [I have given] every green herb for food.' And it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
