Visit Little-Kyoto Tsuwano、Meiji Restoration City Hagi
I would like to inform Tsuwano in Shimane Pref. and Hagi in Yamaguchi pref. trip.

From Ohta city to Tsuwano station in evening.
I stay at Japanese hotel "Yoshinoya".
Yoshinoya is built by repairing old house.
You can recieve a Omotenahi service.

Next morning, I walk around Tsuwano town.
First visit is Tonomachi street.
There is a stream along street,lots of carps are swimming in the stream.
Iris is in the stream, end of May is a best season for this street.

Next is Tsuwano church.
This church is made of wood, Tatami are covered in the floor.
It is small beautiful church.

I pray this church.
Next visit is Tsuwano town hall.
You can get some informations from this hall.

Go to south, near the bridge, Sagi-Mai monument is existing.
Ouchi clan bring Sagimai dance from Kyoto Yasaka Shrine.

I take a rest here, and eat "Genji Soshi" Steamed bread.

Next is Yomeiji.
This temple has a grave of Ogai-Mori, he is a famous literary person.
Grave word is Shintaro-Mori, this is a real name of Ogai-Mori.
This grave is opposite side of main temple.

Next is a Maria church, it locate at the hill.
Edo Bakuhu catch lots of Christian of Nagasaki, and accommodate 153 persons in this church.
Police person do torture to them.
Lots of Christian was died.
This church is sad place.

Next visit is Tsuwanon castle ruine.
About 4km distance from Tsuwano station.
Ride a lift and climb stone steps.

Tsuwano castle is top of the mountain, 367m height.
This castle for Kamei clan.
From here, you can see a wideview landscape.


I take a lunch at Tsuwano, then go to Hagi city by buss.
Go to Hagi from Tsuwano, riding a buss is convenient.
Get off at East Hagi station, walk around castle downtown.
I stay at Hagi.

Next morning, I rent a bicycle.
Go around Hagi by bicycle.
First visit is Shoin shrine.
This shrine's god is Shoin-Yoshida.

From gate to main shrine, there are Shoin History museum, Shoin school, Treasure house of Shoin shrine.

At Shoin History museum, you can see many dolls, understand Shoin's history.

This shrine is a education shrine. I pray at this shrine.

Next is Shinsaku-Takasugi house.
He was born at this house.
Entering this house is not available.

Shinsaku is educated at Shokason-Jyuku, and leads breaking Edo Bakuhu, using Kiheitai army.

After lunch, I go to Hagi Castlev.
This is west end of Hagi city.
This castle is made by Terumoto-Mouri
Current, stone wall and moat are existing.

In this castle, Tenshukaku, Tea room, library's, bridge, Japanese garden are seen.

This castle has Tenshukaku, Main castle, seconde citadel, third citadel.

Terumoto-Mouri statue is located near the seconde citadel.
This statue is new one that is established at 2004.

Yamaguchi Hagi city has lots of sighseeing spots of Meiji Restoration.

Please visit this Hagi and Little-kyoto Tsuwano.

World heritage Iwami silver mine Cycling Trip

I would like to inform Iwami silver mine trip.
From Izumo city's, ride JR to Ohta City station.
Ride buss to Iwami silver mine.

Buss is one line per hour, and 25minutes to Ohmori-Daikansho-Ato.
Get off at Ohmori-Daikansho-Ato, renta a bicycle 700yen per 2hours at cycling shop.
I confirm the sighseeing spots of Iwami silver mine at a cycling shop
Iwami silver mine has some slopes, when renta bicycle, I recommend electric bicycle.
First visit is Ryugenji Mabu, 3km distance from bicycle shop.
Beginning of this road is shops and old towns, flat road.

Old shops that are built from end of Edo period to early Meiji period.
Soba noodle, Soft ice cleam, Folk arts, Samurai House are existing in old shops.
The shops are not many, are 30% of Naraijyuku.
After old shops, slopes are starting, electric bicycle is convenient for slope.
About 30minutes cycling, you arrive at Ryugenji Mabu.

Near the Ryugenji Mabu, I park bicycle to parking place.
Ryugenji Mabu is 410yen charge.
I enter this Mabu.
Iwami silver mine has 600mabs, Mabu is mine tunnel.
Many Mabus are small size, width 30cm, height 60cm.



Iwami silver mine is a first discovered silver mine in Japan.
It was digged from Mid-16th century to Early-20th.
End of Edo period, Iwami town was prosperous.
Ryugenji Mabu has 1m width, 1.8-2m height.
It is cooled and some waters are dropped.
Mabu is lit up.
Small Mabu are existing along Ryugenji Mabu.

Workers have Rato that is a oil lamp.
Current Rato is changed to be a famous Mascot "Rato chan"
End of Ryugenji Mabu, there is a wide space.
Please take a picture at this place.

From this wide place, Slope is started again to exit.
There are some workers pictures to wall.


Ryugenji Mabu sightseeing needs 30minutes.
Exit park, silver ore is available to see.

Next is Shimizudani Refinery.
Refinery is made of Stone wall and bricks.
It is same as Castle ruine.

Next is Gohyaku-Rakan,lots of Buddha are sitting in the wall.
In the wall, beautiful pictures are drawed.

Next visit is Kawashima house.
It is a Samurai house.
It has a wonderful Armor.

This is 2 hours from starting of cycling.
I return bicycle, and walk to Iwami silver mine museum.
I understand silver mine and digging history.

Next is Kumagaya house.
This house is a business man's house.
He manage Silver mine, liquor manufacturing, Mail business etc.

Next visit is World Heritage center by buss.
This center shows silver Refinery, silver mine etc.


Iwano silver mine has a lots of sighseeing spots.
Please visit Iwano silver mine.
