物理学の世界では私の脳は全くの役立たず

友人に国立大学の物理学の教授がいますので

時々素粒子物理学やら何やら色々話してくれます。

話してはくれますが

さっぱり理解できません。

そして思い知らされます

同じ人間でありながら

その能力の違いは測り知れない

と

高校生の頃までは教科書に出て来る範囲の理解力で済みましたから

物理学であってもどこかに

自分でも頑張れば全て理解できる

そんな思いもありましたが

実際に社会に出て超優秀な人たちと接すると

自分には超えられない壁がある

これを思い知らされる事になります。

スポーツでも私の長男は中1までプロのサッカー選手になると頑張っていましたが

市の選抜チームに選ばれて

本当に才能のある子たちに出会い

プロに行く人たちは自分とは全く違う

そう言ってサッカーを止めてしまいました。

それから色々あって本当に大変でした。

そんな訳で

人間は皆平等

って言葉がありますが

実際には平等どころか

同じ人間は二人といない

これが現実です。

ただ勉強でもスポーツでも

優秀である事と幸福である事は全く別なんですよね。

天才とバカは紙一重

って言葉がありますが

優秀な人たちは脳の大半を知識に割いていますから

対人関係を犠牲にして変わり者よばわりされて孤独になる

よくある話です。

一流のスポーツ選手でも

時間の大部分の時間を練習に注ぎ込込む事になりますから

世間の事情に疎く

浮気して週刊誌ネタになって苦しんだりします。

また体を酷使しますから

早死にする人も多いですね。

ですから

人間はそれぞれ生まれ付き能力に差はありますが

それは優劣と言うより個性

そんな風に捉えた方が良いかも知れません。

私自身素粒子物理学も量子力学も理解できませんが

それでも日々の生活には何も問題がありませんから

別に劣等感もありません。

そして人を使う立場になれば

この理解があるのと無いのでは大きく成果が違います。

私の会社は私の子供の年齢の社員ばかりですから

人生経験の長い私から見れば

至らない事だらけです。

ただそれだけを見て寛大さを失うと

社員は一人もいなくなります。

若い人たちは

私から見れば心もとない感じはありますが

しかし彼らから見れば

逆に私の能力の低さ

これを感じてるはずです。

スマホひとつとっても

私は人差し指でゆっくり打ちますが

社員達は親指で

信じられない位に高速でピコピコしています。

そして知識自体も

新しい事に関しては

私より上を行ってる

そう感じる事が良くあります。

能力の違いでは無く個性の違い

私はこの言葉を頭に入れていますから

何とかかんとか若い社員とも上手くやれてる

まぁ今はそんな感じです。

幸せと優劣は関係ない

自分の脳にあった環境に身を置けば皆幸せ

多分そうなんでしょう。

A friend of mine is a professor of physics at a national university,

so he sometimes talks to me about particle physics and other things.

He talks to me,

but I can't understand it at all.

And I realize that even though we are all Hom sapience,

the difference in our abilities is immeasurable.

Until I was in high school,

I only had the ability to understand what was in the textbooks,

so I thought that even in physics,

I could understand it all if I tried hard.

But when I actually graduated and enter business world

and interacted with super talented people,

I realized that there was a wall that I couldn't overcome.

In sports, my eldest son was trying hard to become a professional soccer player until he was selected for the city's selection team,

and he met some really talented kids there,

and he said that the people who go pro are completely different from me,

so he quit soccer.

After that,

a lot of things happened and it was really difficult.

That's why they say that all humans are equal, but in reality, far from being equal,

there are no two people who are the same.

That's the reality.

However, whether it's studying or sports,

being excellent and being happy are completely different things.

because talented people allocate most of their brains to knowledge,

they often sacrifice interpersonal relationships, are called eccentric, and end up lonely.

Even top athletes spend most of their time practicing, so they are unaware of what is going on in the world,

Affair out of marriage become the subject of weekly magazines,

They also overwork their bodies, so many of them die early.

So, although people are born with different abilities, it may be better to think of it as individuality rather than superiority or inferiority.

I myself cannot understand particle physics or quantum mechanics,

but I don't have any problems in my daily life,

 so I don't feel inferior.

And when you are in a position to manage people,

having this understanding will make a big difference in the results.

My company is made up of employees who are the same age as my children,

so from my perspective with a lot of life experience,

there are many shortcomings.

If you lose your tolerance just because of that,

you will no longer have any employees.

From my perspective,

young people seem unreliable,

but from their perspective,

I'm sure they sense my lack of ability.

Even with something as simple as a smartphone,

I type slowly with my index finger,

but my young employees use their thumbs to tap at incredibly high speeds.

And when it comes to new things,

I often feel like they're better than me in terms of knowledge.

It's not a difference in ability,

it's a difference in personality.

I keep this in mind,

so somehow

I manage to get along well with the younger coworkers.

Well, that's how it feels for now.

 Happiness has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority.

Everyone is happy if they put themselves in an environment that suits their brain.
