Major companies seem to pay their employees record high bonuses in this winter. According to a survey conducted by The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the weighted average of bonuses in the whole industries will be 868,932 yen, up 1.97% from a year earlier.This will exceed that in the 1997 winter,which recorded the highest ever. It is thought that this is led by the companies where business-performance-linked bonus payment systems are adopted.
