a concrete description of a lanscape ( my case)

このような現場に立ったとき、どのように風景を描くか、示しましょう。
ここは松山市内の「平和通」に面した場所です。写真の右肩先に高さ130米くらいの山があり、その頂上に城があります。すなわちここは、松山城の北側です。

I am now facing a street. This is Heiwa-dori Street. Here I can see vehicles going down the street and coming up the street. And I can see a lot of gingko trees planted at the median strip,
which are lined up along this street, east and west, a long way, probably about one kilometer.
Just one hundred meters ahead of me, there is a small hill on top of which Matsuyama Castle is located. I can see a beautiful green leaves from here.

How to describe a landscape or a scene

2014年07月18日 10時13分30秒 | 自分の意見の陳述
Recentlt,I have come to understand the importance of describing a landscape or a scene like a painer's practicing of drawing a sketch. Such a recognition was already born in my mind a fairly long time ago, and these days, such recognition has been intensified.

I hear that many of would-be artists often find the opportunities to make a sketch of something, espacially natural landscapes. But I seldom hear such a story for the people engaged in lingistic activities. I am a professional sightseeing guide certified by the government and always think of the ways for enhancing my ability of English.

I live in Matsuyama, Ehime, a mecca of haiku, where a great master of haiku, Skiki (Masaoka Shiki), was born. Shiki often wandered through a city or its outskitrts and compsed haiku.Shiki's activity of composing haiku in such an occasion must have been done after closely watching various kinds of landscapes.

So, I think there is a deep conection between a painter's training and a linguist's one.

Acoording to my practices, there are two types of expression which are pivotal.

I (can) see O (V, or Ving)....... (type 1: I see....)
There is(are) O (V,or Ving).......(Type2: there is ....)

I have shown you what I am thinking of these days.

Have a good day!

an address I made before a class at a cram school

Nice to see you again,everyone.
As you know, Typhoon No.8 hit Japan this week and there were some damages caused by the typhoon in the country such as a massive landslide in a town of Nagano prefecture. A junior high school student was killed in the disaster, which was a very pitiful thing. The typhoon passed Shikoku on Thursday, but fortunately, I think there was not so much damage in Ehime prefecture, espacially in Matsuyama. I think it was so thanks to the Ishizuchi Mountai Range, which is the highest in the western part of Japan.
Today, we will continue the subject of infinitive.
Now, let's pump it up.
