ＳＦカーニバル 読了

面白かったのは、「タイムマシン」・「ジョーという名のロジック」・「ミュータント」・「ＳＦ作家失格」そして、「恐竜パラドックス」だ
「ロボット編集者」は残念ながら最後まで読む気力が私にはなかった。

38年前に読んだ「年刊ＳＦ傑作選５」（ジュディス・メリル編）は面白かったなぁ。

昔読んだ「恐竜パラドックス」（フレドリック・ブラウン）が読みたくなったので、
『ＳＦカーニバル』（短編集）を図書館で借りてきました。

なつかしく読ませてもらった。
大学の授業中に学生の手が時間の壁を越えてしまうという導入部が気に入っています。
最後のオチも良い。
一つだけ残念だったのは、恐竜が400万年前に存在していると言う設定。
フレドリック・ブラウンは人気作家だけに、惜しい。

日はまた昇る 読了

アメリカから、フランス、スペインと旅をして、酒ばかり飲んでいる物語だった。
しかし、さすがに闘牛のシーンはリアル

要約すると、
一人の美女と四人の男がスペインに旅行して、
美女がイケメン闘牛士に惚れて四人全員ふられる。
最後に美女も闘牛士にふられて無一文。

・・・・・そんな感じ

たまには純文学もいいもんだ。

She had been saving every penny she could for months, with this result.

決して面白くない訳ではない。ヘミングウェイなのだから！
彼らは、これからも釣りをしたり散歩をしたり食事をしたりするだろう。
しかし、事件は起きそうにもない。
読者はどんな心構えで読めばいいのだろう？
そうだ！
ミステリがイタリア料理だとすれば
純文学は京料理だ。
この薄味を楽しむのだ！356ページを読破するぞ！

きっと何かが見えるはずだと信じて・・・・・
