写真は、1957年2月3日、ホワイトフィッシュの西にあるタマラック湖での、天然氷の切り出し作業です。
Feb. 3, 1957:
Ice crews working at Tamarack Lake west of Whitefish have harvested approximately one-half of the quota of ice for the Great Northern Railway this year. Ice cut operations, under local contract, are under way at Tamarack Lake because Whitefish Lake, usual site for the ice harvest, failed to freeze deep enough by harvest time. The contractors hope to have the job completed in about 10 days. The harvest started Jan. 22. The ice is cut and loaded on trucks at Tamarack Lake and trucked to the huge Great Northern ice houses for storage.
