The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has started to deliberate on significantly reducing the access charges of the telecommunications service operators to the NTT's optical fiber networks.The ministry intends to implement the new framework from fiscal 2008.The access charges are the charges which the telecomunications service opeartors have to pay to NTT for renting the NTT's netwoks.This time's move is aimed at encouraging new entries into the super-high-speed internet srevice business market where NTTs have a over 60% share. Through the policy, the end-users's charges ,including the Internet usage ones,are expected to be lowered.
