gngoatで話題になった素敵なOゲージのレイアウトです。紅葉がとってもいい色を出してます。グレーとノーザンのグレーシャーグリーンとあっています。

Yahoo!オークションで落札した「ハイレイラー」が届きました。
バックマンの製品です。実物は、タイヤに連動した小車輪でレール上を走るようですが、この模型ではタイヤ自体が車輪となっていて、これで走行します。小車輪もきちんと付いていて可動式です。車体は、ピックアップトラックタイプで、荷台の荷物の中にモーターが仕込んであります。機関車と並べてみると、アメリカの機関車はやっぱり大きいなあと実感するのですが、ハイレイラーの寸法を図ってみると、これでもオーバースケールのようです。
なお、このオークションに応札する気になったのは、このブログの2006年10月29日版でご紹介したBNSFの本物のハイレイラーの写真を見ていたからなのは、言うまでもありません。

for the old MS Train Simulator game, my freeware G.N. Hi-Line route.
Set in the 1940s/1950s, I tried to create a more realistic version of
a Marias Pass route (especially considering grades), and later
extended it eastward. Now, the final track layout of the route
features all G.N. lines between Whitefish, Somers, Sweet Grass, Great
Falls, and Havre. Also included is a part of the Milwaukee Road (Great
Falls to Agawam) and the Montana Western.
The route is available for download at http://www.train-sim.com/ now,
in the file library there. Maybe some of you are interested in the
route and do not check the "newest files" list of train-sim.com every day.

gngoatからの情報です。ウェリントンの大雪崩が起きたのは、1910年の3月1日ですが、最近のその現場の写真がアップされました（The Goasts of Wellington)。車両の部品の残骸等が今も残っているとは驚きです。
