The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced it has not objected to the capital plans of 28 bank holding companies participating in the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR). One institution received a conditional non-objection based on qualitative grounds, and the Federal Reserve objected to two firms' plans on qualitative grounds.

Citi Announces 2015 Planned Capital Actions

New York – The Federal Reserve Board today advised Citi that it has no objection to the planned capital actions requested by Citi as part of the 2015 Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR).

The planned capital actions include an increase of Citi’s quarterly common stock dividend to $0.05 per share (subject to quarterly approval by Citi’s Board of Directors), as well as a common stock repurchase program of up to $7.8 billion during the five quarters starting in the second quarter of 2015.

承認直後に、シティグループからプレスリリースが発表され、まずは、非常に少ないとはいえ、四半期配当が５倍に。また、時価総額の５％程度の自社株買いが、4-6月期から開始され、５四半期の間に実施されます。

リーマンショックからおよそ６年半。

米国株は史上最高値を更新していますが、最後の仕上げは、銀行の業績回復だと私は考えます。

年内に米国は利上げを開始し、２年くらいかけて、ゆっくりとしたペースで、小幅な利上げを繰り返していくのではないかと私は予想します。

利上げに伴い、米国の銀行の業績もよくなっていくことを期待しています。
