It also includes a description on SAKUGA, which I believe must be the first of its kind in English that is written by those involved in the Japanese anime industry. We hope to help anime fans learn about SAKUGA and a new way of enjoying anime. In Japan, animators are assigned each cuts, so each cuts or scenes are kind of directed by a particular animator. So, there are people in Japan that check and see certain cuts to enjoy their favorite animators work. Enjoy!

“Giovanni’s Island” is a feature film animation released in 2014 that was awarded the “Excellence Award” in the 18th Japan Media Arts Festival (2014).
The Multi-Touch book version of the key frame collection for “Giovanni’s Island” has been released in the iBooks store on Dec. 24th, 2014 (Wed) in both Japanese and English.
This will be the world’s first Multi-Touch book key frames collection for animation.

We named the Multi-Touch book key frames collection, "E-SAKUGA," the book is an e-book for iPads.
E-SAKUGA is different from conventional key frames collection as it has the new “Sakugami” feature (pending patent) that the company developed. It is a completely new type of e-book in which you can intuitively enjoy pictures moving, which is the essence of animation.
You can see the key frames drawn by animators like a flip book.

An animated feature film based in the Kuril Islands in 1945. The story depicts the lives of two brothers, ten-year-old Junpei and seven-year-old Kanta, whose lives are dramatically changed by the Soviet military occupying their island.
