ベトナム時間と違って日本時間 NASA時間は
予告通り定刻に地球に戻ってきた。

Japan's Wakata back CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida, July 31
The U.S. space shuttle Endeavour returned safely to
Earth on Friday morning with its seven-member crew,
including Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata who spent nearly
140 days in space.
The Endeavour's landing at the Kennedy Space Center in
Florida marked the end of Wakata's latest mission that
included completing Japan's first manned space laboratory at
the International Space Station.
In his third space flight that began on March 15,
the 45-year-old Wakata helped complete the Japan Aerospace
Exploration Agency's ''Kibo'' (Hope) space lab and conduct
scientific experiments as a flight engineer during
his 138-day trip -- the longest any Japanese astronaut has
been in space.
''The folks that have worked this mission really deserve
a lot of praise for what they got accomplished during the time
that we were docked to the International Space Station,''
Commander Mark Polansky told an afternoon news conference. ''
In addition to that, it's a tremendous pleasure and honor to
bring back a great astronaut from Japan, Koichi Wakata.''
When asked how he is handling the return to Earth, Wakata said, ''When the hatch opened, I smelled the grass from the ground
and was glad to be back home. Still feeling a little shaky
when I walk, but I'm feeling very good.''
The return to Earth was delayed a month from the original schedule due to a fuel leak that disrupted operations for the shuttle's launching by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
On Sunday, Wakata sent a message from the space station in a press conference held ahead of his return trip.
''There's no looking back,'' said Wakata, who sounded satisfied.
''I feel as if I've just finished a four-and-a-half-month marathon at full speed.''
He is scheduled to hold a news conference in the next few days and then begin a 45-day rehabilitation period aimed at regaining strength and acclimatizing himself after spending time in a gravity-free environment.

昨日は祇園祭を締めくくる
夏越祭が八坂神社で行われ
小生はその数日前に茅の輪くぐりをすませていた。
ほとんどの神社は
6月30日が夏越の祓えだが祇園は特別7月31日です。
そして京都を代表する霊山：東の比叡山に対する
西の愛宕山924ｍで千日詣り
小生は自宅でお参りした。
そしてそのおかげで本日は良き日になりました。
