標題のような表現の場合、Fridayはどう使われれうか？

②・・・,"Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura said to his counterparts from the other G-8 nations on the second and final day's session Friday of the Kyoto meeting.
読んだらわかるのですが、自分では使えないのでした。on Friday のon が抜けていると考えるべきか、そもそもその考え方自身がおかしいのかよくわからない。
held on Friday とすれば間違いはないのだろうと思っていてもですね・・・。あとにofがつきますから。
次のような使い方も私には新鮮なのです。
The United States' decision last week
last week の前に何の前置詞も入らない。私などの発想では、of last week としたがるのです。（of last week's がより正しいのか？）
