There's a bus stop in front of the school.⇒　バス停と学校は道路の同じ側にある。There's a bus stop opposite the school.⇒バス停は学校とは道路をはさんで反対側にある。opposite と同じ意味を表すものとしては、facing とacross from がある。
There's a bus stop facing the school.
There's a bus stop across from the school.

He is in fron of a car.は車の外に彼はいるわけで、
He is in the front of a car.だと、彼はある車の中にいるわけで、その前部席にいることになる。

thankful とgrateful

I'm thankful for your help.はおかしな英語で、まともな英語は、I'm grateful for your help. だと聞いたときは驚いた。
なぜそうなるか。
gratefulという言葉は、人から受けた親切や好意に対する人間の反応を表明する一般的な言葉として使われる。これに対して、thankful という言葉は、危険を回避できたときや、不愉快な経験を切り抜けた場合などにおける、安堵感の表明において使われる。
なので、
I'm thankful that we got home before the storm started.
Well,I'm thankful that's over.
I'm very grateful for all your help.

境界域はあるかとは思います。

Although it was late,but she went out.

タイトルの英語はおかしい英語となる。まともな英語は、butを省く。その心：英語で二つの節（clause)をつなぐのは一つの接続詞で十分である。上記の例では、although とbutの接続詞があるので、どちらか、一つははずすべきである。It was late,but she went out.も成立する。

しかし、同じ接続詞が繰り返される場合に、and 又はorが一緒に付くことはある。
We came back because we ran out of money,and because Ann got ill.
She didn't write when I was ill, or when I got married.

most people

Most people agree with me.は正しい英文ですが、
Most of people agree with me. はおかしな英語だとみなされる。

most を使うときは
①前にtheをつけない
②determiner決定詞（冠詞、所有格とか）がないときには　後ろにof をつけない。
なので、
Most cheese is made from cow's milk.はまともだが
Most of cheese is made from cow's milk. とは言わない。

determiner があるときはあとにofを伴うのことが可能である。
Most of the people here know each other.
Most of my friends live abroad.
Most of us thought he was wrong.

但し、地名とか個人の名前が出てくると違うらしい。
The Romans conquered most of England.
I've read most of Shakespeare.

think

think という言葉は、意見をもつ（have an opinion)という意味と、それ以外(
consider, plan)に分かれる。意見を持つに関しては、進行形はありえない。それ以外はありえる。
think のあとに続くのは、普通は・・・ing形であり不定詞は取らない。（目的語が来てその後に不定詞が来ることはある。They thought him to be a spy.)

なので、
I am thinking to change my job. (×）はおかしくて、
I am thinking of changing my job.（○）がまともである。

不定詞をとることがあるのは、例外的で、なにかを催促するような場合。
