組織の長に仁が必要である理由

　組織の長は権力とお金を使う機会を得るが、これを狙って部下や取引先等の多くのステークホルダーがにじり寄ってくる事になる。こうした事から、組織の長は、権力やお金を誤り無く、正しく使う為には品性や人徳が重要な意味を持ってくる。

　人の特性を知・仁・勇で表すならば、トップには仁が必須である。組織は人と人との繋がりが上手くいってはじめて有効に機能するので、長の絶対要件は仁であろう。
　歴史上、暴君や独裁者には仁が欠け、厳のマネジメントを行うようになった。厳のマネジメントの元では自由で積極的な発想が出るはずも無く、組織は徐々に衰運に向かうであろう。
　また、仁者の下には有能な人材が集まり、組織は隆盛に向かう。
　このように、大組織であればあるほど、この長には知・勇よりも仁が必要であり有効なのである。

Why is virtue necessary for the head of an organization?
　The head of an organization has the opportunity to use power and money, but many stakeholders, such as subordinates and business partners, will approach him/her in order to gain access to this opportunity. For this reason, character and virtue are important for the head of an organization to use power and money correctly and without mistakes.

　If we express the characteristics of a person as wisdom, virtue, and courage, then virtue is essential for a leader. An organization can only function effectively if the connections between people are good, so virtue is an absolute requirement for a leader.
　Throughout history, tyrants and dictators have lacked virtue and have adopted strict management. Under strict management, there is no way for free and proactive ideas to emerge, and the organization will gradually decline.
　Furthermore, talented people gather under a man of virtue, and the organization flourishes.
In this way, the larger the organization, the more necessary and effective it is for the leader to have virtue rather than wisdom or courage.

自立から遠ざかる日本

　日本は第二次世界大戦で破れた後、アメリカに占領されて平和憲法を持った。憲法の作成過程では日本の関与はあったが、アメリカの強力な指導があり、平和憲法を押し付けられたと評価する事が正しいのか、平和憲法を与えられたとするのが正しいのか人により意見は異なるのだろう。

　そして1951年、サンフランシスコ講和会議で日本の独立が認められて、主権を回復したのであるが、アメリカが継続して日本に駐留する事になった。

　　アメリカの統治は非常に寛大なもので、食料事情の悪かった日本に物資援助ををしてくれて、日本国民を飢餓から救ってくれた恩義を我々は忘れてはなるまい。
　いずれにしても、日本は憲法、安全保障、経済等様々な分野でアメリカからの影響を受ける事となった。
　そして、戦後も70年以上経過し日本も自立を求められるようになってきた。しかしながら、日本は外圧がないと変われないとも言われており、アメリカに追随するばかりでは国益を損ねる事になるだろう。

　戦後、継続して米国に追従し、米国を模倣する癖がついてしまったおかげで、政治について日本独自に考え行動する政治家と官僚がいなくなってしまったらしい。地球の重心が西洋からアジアにシフトしつつある現代においては、日本が自立した頭で考える必要がある。

　After Japan was defeated in the Second World War, it was occupied by the United States and was given a pacifist constitution. Japan was involved in the process of creating the constitution, but there was strong guidance from the United States, and opinions will differ on whether it is correct to say that the pacifist constitution was imposed on Japan or that it was given to us.

　In 1951, Japan's independence was recognized at the San Francisco Peace Conference and its sovereignty was restored, but the United States continued to have a military presence in Japan.

　America's governance was extremely generous, and we should never forget the gratitude it owes to Japan for providing material aid to a country with a poor food situation, thereby saving the Japanese people from starvation.
　More than 70 years have passed since the end of the war, and Japan is now being asked to become independent. However, it is also said that Japan cannot change without external pressure, and following the United States would be damaging to the national interest.

　After the war, Japan continued to follow the United States and became accustomed to imitating it, so it seems that there are no longer any politicians or bureaucrats who think and act independently about politics. In today's world, where the center of gravity of the world is shifting from the West to Asia, Japan needs to think independently.

蓮舫氏は都知事選で落選する？

　都知事選で蓮舫氏が出馬するというニュースが聞こえてきた。最近の選挙戦で立憲民主党が好調で勢いにのって攻勢を仕掛ける考えのようであるが、そう上手くいくかどうかは分らない。
　最近の選挙で立憲民主党が勝ったのは、自民党への批判票が同党に流れただけで、立憲民主党を支持しているからではない。言わば相手のエラーで勝ったということで、支持を得て勝ったのではないだろう。

　I heard the news that Renho will be running in the Tokyo gubernatorial election. The Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan has been doing well in recent elections, and it seems that she is planning to launch an offensive by taking advantage of the momentum, but it is unclear whether it will go well.
　The reason why the Constitutional Democratic Party won the recent election was because votes against the LDP went to the party, not because people supported the Constitutional Democratic Party. In other words, it was because of the other party's error, and it was not because they gained support.

オーバーツーリズムに対するお粗末な対応

　富士山がコンビニの上に見えるという事が珍しいという事で、旅行客が殺到し、対策として粗末な黒の衝立を立てるという対応がメディアで取り上げられている。
　旅行客の道路の危険な横断や、観光バスの乗り入れなど地元や当のコンビニ店等は、商売にも影響している事であろう。

　そんな困難を解消しようとして、景観を悪くする事を承知の上で、決して美しいとは言えない黒い衝立を設置したのであろうが、「クールジャパン」を売り物にする日本としては、好ましい対応とは言えないだろう。
　日本が観光立国を政策として掲げるなら、楽しい旅の日本の記憶を持って帰国してもらいたいものである。黒い衝立を立てて、旅行客と対立するような対応ではなく、正しい方向に誘導するような対応であるべきである。

　The dangerous crossing of roads by tourists and the entry of tourist buses into the area are affecting business for local businesses and convenience stores in particular.

　In an attempt to resolve this problem, they probably installed black screens, which are by no means beautiful, knowing that they would ruin the view. However, this is not a desirable response for a country that sells itself as "Cool Japan."
　If Japan is to make itself a tourism-based nation, we want tourists to return home with fond memories of their trips to Japan. Rather than putting up black partitions and taking a confrontational approach, we should guide tourists in the right direction.

日本で民主主義が軌道に乗らない理由

　日本において政治への無関心が広がっている。この傾向は若年層に強いようである。政治への関心が薄い事について、メディアは投票率が低い事を問題視するが、投票率が上がれば政治が良くなるというものでもない。

　そもそも、日本に於いて若年層だけではなく、他の年代に於いても政治への関心が高いとは言えないと私は思う。というのは、巷で政治談議が為されているのを見た事が無いし、テレビ番組でも政治を題材にした質の高い番組は極めて少ない。
　考えてみれば、日本に於いては小学生の頃から政治について深く考える力を養っていないように思える。
　メディアでは、政治家の人脈絡みの政局を論ずる番組が殆どで、日本の将来を考えるための参考になるような番組が見当たらない。
　日本で民主主義を軌道に乗せるためには、学校や企業等で、政治について論議する社会風土を定着させる必要があるだろう。

Why democracy isn't getting off the ground in Japan
　In Japan, apathy towards politics is spreading. This tendency seems to be stronger among the younger generation. The media blames low voter turnout for the lack of interest in politics, but a higher voter turnout does not necessarily mean that politics will improve.

　To begin with, I don't think that interest in politics is high not only among young people in Japan, but also among other age groups. This is because I have never seen any political discussions in the streets, and there are very few high-quality television programs that deal with politics as a theme.
　When I think about it, it seems that in Japan, students are not developing the ability to think deeply about politics even from elementary school age.
　Most of the media programs discuss political affairs involving politicians' personal connections, and there are no programs that provide any insight into Japan's future.
　In order to get democracy on track in Japan, it will be necessary to establish a social climate in which politics can be discussed in schools, companies, and so on.
