フジテレビの日本一の最低男（１/30放送）で地球と太陽の距離の話がドラマの中であり、17万光年とあった。これは間違いで８、９分で光は地球に届く。
Fuji TV: Distance between the Earth and the Sun
In the Fuji TV drama "Japan's Worst Man" (broadcast on January 30th), the distance between the Earth and the Sun was mentioned as 170,000 light years. This is incorrect, as light reaches the Earth in 8 or 9 minutes.
性善説・性悪説 VS 契約書
外交では基本的に性悪説で考えるという。国と国との間では、相手を信頼して騙されれば大変危うい事になるだろう。企業間の取引においても同様で契約書のあり方に性善説の傾向が現れるか、性悪説の傾向が現れるかを見る事ができる。
私の経験では、欧米の契約書は極めて厳密で、日本の企業間の契約書は、あまり厳密ではない。それは契約書の厚さで判断する事ができる。日本の契約書は、欧米のそれの３分の１位である。
日本人は基本的に相手を信頼する事が前提になっており、人によっては契約書は取り交わした事がないという中小企業の社長もいる。欧米人からすれば、危なっかしいと感じるだろうが、基本的に人は信頼するものだという事が普通に行われるという事は素晴らしい事だと思う。
The belief that human nature is fundamentally good・The belief that human nature is fundamentally evil vs "contract"
In diplomacy, the basic approach is to assume that people are fundamentally evil. Between countries, it would be extremely dangerous if one trusted the other and was deceived. The same is true in transactions between companies, and we can see whether the way contracts are written reflects a tendency toward the assumption that people are fundamentally evil or not.
In my experience, Western contracts are extremely strict, while Japanese contracts between companies are not so strict. You can judge this by the thickness of the contracts. Japanese contracts are about one-third the length of Western contracts.
In Japan, trusting others is a given, and there are even some presidents of small and medium-sized companies who have never signed a contract. From a Westerner's perspective, this may seem risky, but I think it's wonderful that it is so commonplace that people basically trust each other.
壊れていく日本
どこの国であったか、教育の上で母国語を非常に大切にするという事を聞いた事がある。言語だけではなく、文化も移ろっていくものである。
例えば、移民や外国人労働者が急増するとどうなるであろうか。仮に、日本人100人に対して移民や外国人が30人、50人と増えていけば、かなり様子が変わるに違いない。しかも、彼らが日本国内に定着し彼らの子孫が増えていけばどうなるか。
筆者は、移民や外国人労働者の受入れに反対する者ではないが、日本人のアイデンティティや日本の文化を守るという観点から、何らかの政策的対処をしていかなければ、長期的には大問題になる筈だと言いたいのである。
文化も言葉も、ある意味で生き物なので、統制する事は難しいが、全く何の配慮も無ければ大事な文化まで毀損する事になるだろう。
電力ケーブルや側溝の金属等のインフラが盗まれたり、外人同士が日本国内で抗争したりするのをテレビで見ていると、日本という国が壊されていくように思えてならない。
Japan which is beeing damaged
I once heard that in some country, the mother tongue is highly valued in education. Not only language, but culture also changes over time.
For example, what would happen if the number of immigrants and foreign workers suddenly increased? If the number of immigrants and foreigners per 100 Japanese people increased to 30 or 50, the situation would undoubtedly change considerably. Moreover, what would happen if they settled in Japan and their descendants increased in number?
The author is not opposed to accepting immigrants or foreign workers, but he would like to say that unless some kind of policy response is taken from the perspective of protecting Japanese identity and culture, it will become a major problem in the long term.
Both culture and language are living things in a sense, so it is difficult to control them, but if we take absolutely no consideration whatsoever, we may end up damaging even important cultures.
When I see on TV infrastructure such as power cables and metal from gutters being stolen, or foreigners fighting among themselves within Japan, I can't help but feel that Japan is being destroyed.
臭いものに蓋をする
人は臭いものに遭遇したときや、見たくないものを見てしまった時の対応として、蓋をする、避ける等の回避行動を起こす。これは、政界や経済界や報道界等の業界全体がある事をタブー視するような規模で起きる事がある。
この行動は、問題の回避行動であり、問題の先送り行動であるとも言える。人間の褒めるべき性質ではないものの、心の安寧を得たい人間としては、責めるべき事ではないのかも知れない。
しかしながら、人類社会の様々な問題が大小を問わず、広く明らかになり共有されるようになってきてこのような回避行動が是正されるようになってきた。臭いもの蓋をしても臭気が漏れるようになってきたと言っても良い。これはインターネットの力である。
Cover something smelly
When people encounter something smelly or see something they don't want to see, they take avoidance actions such as covering the object or avoiding it. This can happen on such a scale that entire industries such as politics, business, and the press are considered taboo.
This behavior can be said to be a behavior to avoid the problem, or a behavior to postpone the problem. Although this is not a human trait that should be praised, as a person who wants to have peace of mind, it may not be something to be blamed for.
However, as the various problems facing human society, both large and small, have become widely known and shared, this avoidance behavior has begun to be corrected. It's safe to say that the odor has become to leak even if you put the lid on it. This is the power of the Internet.
日本の名水
日本は山が多く、雨も沢山降る。少し山に入れば美味しい湧水が沢山ある。私はこれらの湧水に取り付かれて１５年程になるだろうか。最初に名水百選という言葉に出くわした。そして直ぐに平成名水百選もある事を知った。
私は、凝り性であるため彼方此方の名水を求めて車を走らせたが、今は赤木神社の御神水と秩父のふれあい水に行っている。
名水百選も平成名水百選も全て湧水で飲むことが出来るかというとそうではなく、歴史的な意味があるとか、景観がいいという理由で名水になっている例があるので、要注意である。そうはいっても、殆どが飲めるので安心して欲しい。
もっとも、名水登録されていないのに、抜群の美味しい水がある。世の中には、無名でも実力がある人がいるのと同じで、知名度は低くても隠れた名水があるのである。先に挙げた２つの名水は、名水百選には載っていない。
Japan's famous water
Japan has many mountains and it rains a lot. If you go a little further into the mountains, there are many delicious springs. I've been obsessed with these springs for maybe 15 years. At first, I came across the word 100 selections of famous water. And I soon found out that there are also 100 selections of Heisei famous water.
I'm finicky, so I drove around in search of famous water from all over the world, but now I'm going to Akagi Shrine's sacred water and Chichibu's Fureai water.
It is not true that all of the 100 selections of famous water and 100 selections of Heisei water can be drunk from spring water, but there are examples of famous water for reasons such as historical significance or beautiful scenery, so be careful. Even so, I want you to rest assured that most of them are drinkable.
However, even though it is not registered as a famous water, there is outstanding delicious water. In the same way that there are people in the world who are unknown but who are talented, there are hidden famous waters that are not well known. The two famous waters I mentioned earlier are not listed in the Top 100 Famous Waters.
