麻生副総理の最低の発言

　一国の外務大臣を公衆の面前で「おばさん」呼ばわりした麻生氏の品性が疑問視されている。
　企業内であれば、間違いなくハラスメントの対象となるのに、腐敗した世界の住人である麻生氏にとっては、問題発言でも何でもないのであろう。

　お金も地位もあり、傲慢の極みに落ちてしまったのかも知れない。このような人物は政界から去って欲しいものである。

　Mr. Aso's character is being questioned after he called a country's foreign minister an ``old lady'' in public.
　If he were in a company, he would definitely be subject to harassment, but to Mr. Aso, who lives in a corrupt world, this is probably not a problem.

　With money and status, he may have fallen to the height of arrogance. The person like this should be removed from politics.

終末医療とQOL

　夕張パラドックスは、現代医療の必要性と有効性に疑問を投げかけた事件である。そして、これは逼迫している医療財政に関わる問題でもある。
　そして、医療の有効性が疑問視される終末医療とQOL（Quality Of Life)の問題もある。延命のために検査や抗癌剤で苦しんで（生きる事の質を落とし）死んでいくという話を彼方此方で聞く。

　長く生きる事も大切だが、長く苦しむ事はQOLの観点からは賛成できない。そのように考えると、終末医療においても、大きな無駄が潜んでいるのかも知れない。

　The Yubari Paradox is an incident that cast doubt on the necessity and effectiveness of modern medicine. This is also an issue related to tight medical finances.
　Then there are the issues of terminal care and quality of life (QOL), which call into question the effectiveness of medical care. I hear stories here and there of people suffering from tests and anti-cancer drugs to prolong their lives (degrading their quality of life) and dying.

　Living a long life is important, but suffering for a long time is not acceptable from a quality of life perspective. If you think about it this way, there may be a huge amount of waste lurking in end-of-life care as well.

 

派閥を解散するという愚策

派閥を解散するという愚策

　自民党で派閥を解散しようという動きが顕著になってきた。後ろめたい思いを抱いている人が多い様なので、派閥を悪者にすれば、御身は安泰だとでも考えているのだろう。
　物事には必ず良い面と悪い面がある。リンゴが虫食いだからといって捨てるようなものである。虫食いの部分を取り去れば良いのと同様に、派閥に悪が蔓延る原因を取り除けばそれで良い筈である。

　派閥に良い面があるのに、派閥を解消するという事は、ある意味で政治の後退に繋がるだろう。自民党は、あまり利口な集団ではないようだが、野党はこの状況で指を咥えて見ているだけなのだろうか？

The stupid plan of disbanding a faction
　There has been a noticeable movement to dissolve factions within the Liberal Democratic Party. It seems that there are many people who feel guilty about this, so they probably think that if they make the faction the bad guy, they will be safe.
　Things always have good and bad sides. It's like throwing away an apple just because it's eaten by bugs. Just as it would be good to remove the bug-eaten parts, it would be good to remove the cause of the spread of evil in the faction.

　Even though there are good aspects to factions, dissolving them will lead to a setback in politics in a sense. The Liberal Democratic Party doesn't seem to be a very smart group, but are the opposition parties just holding their fingers in their mouths and watching this situation?

 

アメリカの民主主義が動揺している

アメリカの民主主義が動揺している

　トランプ氏の支持率が伸びている。連邦議会占拠事件の疑惑や脱税や多くの訴訟事件に絡んでいる人物が、堂々とアメリカ大統領選挙で立候補する事は信じ難い事である。
　しかも彼は、裁判から逃れるために大統領は免責特権を持つべきだと言い出している。

　一体、アメリカの民主主義は何処へ行ったのだろうか？イスラエルの暴挙を止めようとしないばかりか、支持を表明しているのである。

　常識的な判断が出来なくなったアメリカは、世界のリーダーの座を降りざるを得ないだろう。

American democracy is in turmoil
　Trump's approval rating is increasing. It is hard to believe that a person who has been involved in suspicions of the Capitol siege, tax evasion, and numerous lawsuits would openly run for office in the US presidential election.
　Moreover, he has suggested that the president should have immunity to escape justice.

　Where on earth has American democracy gone? Not only are they not trying to stop Israel's outrages, they are even expressing their support.

　America, no longer able to make common sense decisions, will have no choice but to step down as world leader.

頓珍漢な自民党

　自民党の裏金事件で自民党は派閥の解消をしようといている。メディアが報じているように、問題は派閥にあるのではなく、多くの自民党議員の政治に対する姿勢にあるのであろう。
　全体的に見ると、選挙の際の票の取りまとめや買収に対する反省は度外視して事態の成り行きを静観している議員が多い様に見受けられる。

　そして、派閥の解消でお茶を濁して終わりにしたいと思っているのではないか？腐敗した組織の中にいると、自分達がどの程度腐敗しているのかが分らなくなるものだが、第三者委員会を設ける等の意見が党内から出てこない所をみると、巨大な無能集団に見えてくる。

　このような事態においてさえ、代替勢力が期待できないのであるから、日本の民主主義は破綻しているといっても過言ではあるまい。
　現に無党派層が増えているし、投票率の低下が止まらない。

Inconsistent Liberal Democratic Party
　The LDP is trying to dissolve its factions due to the LDP's slush fund scandal. As the media has reported, the problem is not with the factions, but with the attitude toward politics of many LDP members.
　Overall, it appears that there are many members of Congress who are watching the situation unfold, ignoring the need to reflect on their efforts to organize votes during elections and the reflection about bribes.

　And don't you think they want to end things by dissolving the factions? When you're in a corrupt organization, you can't realize how corrupt you are, but if you look at the fact that no one within the party has expressed an opinion about establishing a third-party committee,  it look like a huge foolish.

　Even in such a situation, it is no exaggeration to say that Japan's democracy is in ruins, as there is no hope for an alternative force.
　In fact, the number of independent voters is increasing, and voter turnout continues to decline.
