いよいよ、ＷＧＣキャデラック選手権だ。昨年は、記憶に残るのは、あれよあれよと勝ちすすんだフランスの新人、デヴウソンのワイルドエイリアからのリカバリーの見事さ、だろう。優勝したジェイソンデイが、グリーン上で、彼の信じられないショットを見て、笑っていたのが印象的であった。そのデビュソンは、ライダーカップのヨーロッパ代表として、堂々とアメリカに挑んだ姿が、いまだに、残映として出てくる。まるで、三銃士のダルタニアンの雄姿を見るような錯覚に落ちる。アレキサンダーデイュマがいたら、何というのか、知りたい。さて、メジャーにも引き適するＷＧＣの舞台、一挙に、このゲームの覇者になったジェイソンは、米印どころか二重丸の選手に昇格し、メジャーどりに近い選手となったことも記憶しておきたい。

Abe, Obama to hold talks, seek robust alliance in security, TPP

WASHINGTON (Kyodo) -- Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Barack Obama are set to hold talks Tuesday in Washington, with the leaders expected to reaffirm a robust bilateral alliance through defense cooperation and trade, Japanese officials said.

Their summit will follow Monday's announcement of new bilateral defense cooperation guidelines, revised for the first time in 18 years, after the "two-plus-two" meeting of the foreign and defense chiefs of Japan and the United States in New York.

Meeting at the White House, Abe and Obama are likely to hail the release of the guidelines, which sets the roles and missions of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and U.S. military and expands the scope of SDF operations abroad. The updating of the guidelines comes amid China's growing assertiveness at sea and in the air.

The leaders are also expected to discuss the progress made so far in bilateral talks over the U.S.-led Trans-Pacific Partnership initiative and reiterate the strategic importance of the TPP framework, the officials said.

U.S. House of Representatives and Senate panels have respectively passed a bipartisan bill that is said to help lead to an early conclusion of the TPP.

Whether this will clear the plenary sessions of both chambers remains to be seen due to resistance by lawmakers critical of the 12-country free trade pact which includes the United States and Japan, the world's largest and third largest economies.

The Obama administration's keenness to conclude the TPP comes amid concerns over China's growing economic influence, especially over emerging economies in Asia, as Beijing pushes forwards with its Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, observers say.

The AIIB is likely to be on the agenda of the Japan-U.S. summit, with the two leaders planning to reaffirm the need to ensure fair governance and transparent management in the China-led bank, according to diplomatic sources.

Tokyo and Washington remain cautious about joining the bank, citing concerns over the opaqueness of the institution's governance standards.

Making the first official visit to the United States by a Japanese premier since then Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi made one in June 2006, Abe is scheduled to deliver a 40-minute speech at the joint meeting of the U.S. Congress, which is the first time for a Japanese prime minister to do so.

Attention is focused on his speech as this is widely seen as foreshadowing a statement he will issue in summer marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, political pundits say.

Other areas of cooperation that Abe and Obama, who visited Japan as a state guest a year ago, could also discuss include the fights against terrorism and climate change, the Japanese officials said.

世界は、まさにカオスのスパイラルに嵌っており、湾岸戦争から、アラブの春が来たと誰でも思いをはせたが、実際は、違った内戦状態に、アラブの各国が汲々として明日が見えない状況は、アメリカ指導型政策が、クルドサックにあるのをアメリカ自体がよく知っている。それに加え、アジアの有事が起きれば、世界は、たちまち、軍靴の音が消えることはるまい。実に、恐ろしいシナリオが待っている。だからこそ、日本は、アメリカとの同盟の強化を望み、アメリカも日本との同盟によって、持たされる国家安泰の道しるべを模索しているのである。

アメリカは、超党派で、大統領に絶対的な権力を与えた。その裏返しは、ウクライナ問題や、アラブの問題で、アメリカ本来の力の外交が、霞んだ事実が危機感を国民にも与えたからだろう。沖縄問題も、安倍総理は、どうアメリカに伝えるのか、お土産は、何を持って行ったのか、オバマ大統領の大歓迎をどうのように対処するのか。安倍総理は、韓国や中国の日本に対する内政干渉と慰安婦問題、南京問題など、どうアメリカのメデイアに説明するのか。

自国以外に占領すれば、それは、侵略である。侵略は、素直に認めるべきであろう。軍部が走りすぎて、政治が無視された我が国は、いかに多くの兵士をなくし、苦難を国民に押し付けタその反省は、しなけれなならない。これを正当化するべき根拠は何もない。しかし、人道上許されない行為を、南京虐殺や人身売買の強制連行などの含み、なかったものをあったという虚偽を認めるわけにはいかないだろう。侵略を不幸な出来事で済まそうとする主張は、他国が是認しないだろう。潔い反省が、平和主義の原点に帰る 絶好の機会である。けじめは、ついてるとは、誰も思っていないのだから。昔のことは、忘れてくれ、というには、そのけじめが、避けて通れぬ羅生門である。もっと、日本人は賢くなるべきであろう。侵略とアジアの解放で帳消しにと思考することこそ、他国が理解できない日本の曖昧さではないのか。

アメリカの議会で、初演説を謳歌するときに、その最大のアジェンダは、正当に評価されるのか、ジャーナリズムの世界に精通しておく必要がある。

戦後７０年、日本が侵略者の汚名を背中に背負い、苦汁をなめて来た事実を、史実をもって、明白にする勇気が問われている。アジアの黎明となった大東亜戦争は、アジア各国が口に出さなくても、日本の立場をよく理解している国もある。その明白さを、整然として、論断しているのが、いまや、日本人だけではなく、欧米をジャーナリストたちであることも、アメリカのメデイアには、伝えるべきである。しかし、敵国であった我が国の言い分を、アメリカが理解するのは、南極の氷を解かすよりは、難しいだろう。

安倍総理が、平和主義、民主主義を題目に、スピーチをするのだろうから、議会で、やんやの拍手を受けるような、大胆な演説をしてもらいたい。

比嘉や渡邊、藤田には、飛距離がある。２６０ヤードは、常に持って行けるだけの力がある。バーデイやイーグルの数が増えれば、当然、逆転劇も可能だ。

現在の女子の世界は、確かな脈拍で、イベントを成功させている。見るスぺクターも、自分が、イベントに参加している雰囲気を楽しんでいるかのようだ。

次から次に、陸続と若い新人が、舞台に上がる。それも、トップ争いに名乗りを上げてくる。だから、観る者には、楽しみが、また一つ、増えるのだ。

The Scottish Senior Open will be played at Archerfield Links Golf Club for the first time from August 27-29, 2015, with the East Lothian course becoming the sixth different venue to host the long-running tournament.

With a prize fund of £250,000 the tournament will have a field of 60 European Senior Tour professionals, who will play alongside an amateur partner for the first two rounds before the professionals only contest the final round on Saturday, August 29.

Archerfield Links has hosted the Ladies Scottish Open since 2010, while it also hosts an annual charity Pro-Am event each June in conjunction with Senior Tour player Ian Woosnam.

The Fidra Links course, which will host the Scottish Senior Open, was designed by Senior Tour Committee Chairman David J Russell, one of Woosnam’s assistant captains at The 2006 Ryder Cup, who is one of Archerfield Links’ two Touring Professionals, along with Catriona Matthew.

Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Senior Tour, said: “The Scottish Senior Open is one of the longest running tournaments on the European Senior Tour schedule, and we are delighted to be visiting a new venue this year in Archerfield Links, which will be a magnificent course for our leading players to contest this prestigious title.

“The tournament will witness a new format this year enabling amateur golfers to play alongside some of the legends of the game and we must thank VisitScotland for their continued support, as well as East Lothian Council and Archerfield Links for hosting us for the first time.”

Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, said:  “We are delighted to continue our support of world-class golf events in Scotland, the Home of Golf, and to see the Scottish Senior Open move to yet another outstanding venue at Archerfield Links.

“East Lothian is renowned for being home to some of the best courses anywhere in the world and with the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open taking place at Gullane this year, as well as a number of other events throughout Scotland, it promises to be another hugely exciting summer of golf in the region and across the country as a whole.”

Councillor John McMillan, Cabinet Spokesperson for Economic Development and Tourism, said: “We are very pleased to be hosting the Scottish Senior Open this year. It’s a fantastic year for East Lothian, Scotland’s Golf Coast, as we’re also home to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Gullane in July. Hosting tournaments of this calibre keeps us firmly on the map as one of the best places in the world to enjoy playing and watching the game of golf. And of course it’s a great boost to our local economy too.”

This year’s Scottish Senior Open will be the 23rd edition of the event. First played at Royal Aberdeen in 1993, the tournament has also been held at Newmachar, Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club, The Roxburghe, and Fairmont St Andrews, which was the venue for the past six editions.

Former Scottish Senior Open champions include Tommy Horton (1993, 1997), Brian Huggett (1995), Neil Coles (1999), Sam Torrance (2006), and Barry Lane (2010, 2011), while Englishman Mark Davis claimed his maiden Senior Tour title at Fairmont St Andrews last year.
