The Agency for Cultural Affairs has decided to carry out its first emergency survey on the condition of fire and theft prevention measures for major important cultural assets across the country.Thinking the situation seriously that a series of fires of historical architectural facilities and thefts of Buddha statues have taken places in recent months,the agency has decided to take this action.And it will later implement necessary measures based on the results of the survey.
The objects of the survey are the following items:
・Architecturral buioldings designated as an important cultural asset
・Fine arts and handiworks desiganted as an important cultural asset, belonging to temples and others
・Architectural buildings designated as a tangible important folk asset,like an old private house
The number of these items will come to be 4000 in architechtural buildings and 6000 in fine arts and handiworks,respectively.
