Skyline

2021-06-14 07:00:11 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here!

Nissan Car Company announced that they decided to stop the development
of Skyline series.

Skyline is a name of sports car which Nissan have continued to produce
for a long time.

The first model was made in 1957.
It was the fastest car in Japan at that time and became very popular
among young people.

My father, who passed away 7 years ago, used to love Skyline and had 3
varieties of this series.
When I got a car license, the car I drove for the first time
was my father’s Skyline.

Although a sports car was very popular before, the situation has
changed these days.
SUV, Sport Utility Vehicle, is more popular now.
It’s a big vehicle which we can load many things for
sports, camp, and so on into it.

The company was able to sell 150,000 cars of this series at its peak
in the 1970's.
But the number of sales in 2020 went down to only 3,900 units.

In the near future, almost every vehicle will become an electric car.
We will not be able to hear the sound of gasoline engine anymore.
I feel that there will be a drastic change in the automobile industry
in the near future.

Haneda Airport

2021-06-13 07:58:04 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here!

Yesterday, I went to Haneda Airport by my motor bike.
I just wanted to ride my bike and see airplanes.

It was not crowded.
Especially, the international terminal was very quiet.
Almost every shop was closed.
Nowadays, only few people go abroad due to the pandemic.

I hope the pandemic will end soon
and I want to go abroad without hesitation.

Juku

2021-06-12 06:59:47 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here!

Juku is a Japanese word.
They might not have it in foreign countries.

According to an English dictionary, Juku is “a private
preparatory school for passing entrance examinations
or other qualifying examinations.

Nowadays, many students go to both school and juku.
Before, the style of teaching was similar to a public
school’s style of teaching.
A teacher used to do a lecture in front of students.

But now, the style has been changed.
Many jukus have a personal teaching style.
Each student tries one’s subject and a teacher checks
if one can understand and instructs as needed.

In Japan, the number of children is decreasing.
The competition in Juku industry is becoming hard.
The key for success is how they understand each student’s
characteristic and teach and coach properly.

Her policy

2021-06-11 06:57:52 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here!

Yuka Saso is a young Japanese and Filipina professional golfer.
She won the US Open the other day.

I read an article that she took an interview after the match.

She said,
“Of course, I’m glad to win the US Open. I dreamed it.
But I don’t want to say, I tried my efforts very hard to win.
Because I just want to enjoy playing golf.
Even if I can’t do well, I don’t blame myself.
I’m happy no matter the result is good or bad.
I want to continue to like playing golf.”

I was impressed with her words.
Many people expect her good play and great achievements.
Usually, players take a lot of pressure and tend to lose themselves.
But she has her policy to continue to play.

She is still young, 19 years old.
Maybe she will enjoy golf and win more.

Air Conditioner

2021-06-10 07:27:14 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here!

Summer has come.
We have hot days this week.
The highest temperature in Tokyo yesterday was 30 degrees.

This season, we use air conditioner indoors.
But I don’t like it very much.
It makes rooms too cold.

When I sweat outdoors and enter indoors, I sometimes feel
very cold and almost have a cold.
There is a big difference in temperature between outdoors and indoors.

Anyway, I will be careful and get along with an air conditioner.
